I think we're eventually going to hit a come-to-jesus moment, a reckoning if you will. And I'm not so certain that bankruptcy half of America is not the plan. The United States is not the industrial giant that supplied the world 70 years ago anymore. The Healthcare INDUSTRY employs 18% of America now. I don't think the powers that be EVER want to fix Healthcare. Because that's a lot of jobs at stake. That's a lot of tax revenue that would be tossed. And replaced with NOTHING. And your bankruptcy is a YOU problem to them. Not a THEM or a WE problem. If you get cancer tough rocks, do us a favor and die quickly. We're all cogs that keep the capitalistic machine running. And if your faulty now, you've outlived you usefulness. You're a liability.

If I wanted to get into a conspiracy theory about this. I would say, this is part of the plan. And Trump is here to usher in that era. That we are headed to Universal income paid by the gov't. What is the price of that? Your freedom. We're slaves to our jobs now (at least if you're poor which half of AMERICANS are) but in this new era you would be slave to the gov't who made a deal with the ruling elite and we were not consulted. In this new era we do not have jobs (the vast majority anyways) we all recieve a universal income. We use that income (that they decide because you get no say in this) and we buy everything we "need" (just enough to keep revolts from happening. Not that that would matter because they've already taken our guns at this point). And the gov't tax the corporations to keep being funded. Which makes in a sense the gov't in the back pocket of the ruling elite. Democracy is dead. Welcome to the dystopian-soon-to-be-present. You're no longer needed, AI and quantum computing has that covered. Go off and enjoy your exile.

we see it the same, it's "just business" so far turning into something else.
and to think we have freedom to choose badly amoung a lot of bad options, but when it goes really bad we are not allowed to terminate our lives. that's illegal! Basically, we are required to suffer slow deaths.
All this is preventable but you are right, we'd be in a depression if they dealt with it. China is doing so much better. We have no business sticking it to china, we should be sticking it to ourselves.
