The medical patches I bought for the wounds on my leg just aren't making it and I need something bigger, thicker and can be washed and reused.

Like cloth diapers? They're a thing Walmart have them. However surely there's a better option. A more absorbent patch with extra tape and a compression wrap? I wouldn't use anything reusable for a wound, bound to cause issues but if you're insisting a reusable menstrual pad or just the insert for a cloth diaper would probably be more manageable. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Topboutique-10PCS-Reusable-baby-Diapers-Cloth-Diaper-Inserts-1-piece-12-Layer-Insert-Cotton-Washable-Baby-Care-Products-Absorbent-Breathable-Liners-L/3119266246?classType=VARIANT
I am assuming you're in the USA but these can be found easily online
Yes, all I've got are the medical pads and I cover them with sets of paper towels and, within a few hours, the towels are soaked.
Okay, cool!
My Dr. gave me a bunch of thick pads 2 weeks ago. What she gave me lasted 2 days. They DID keep my socks from getting soaked but, I can't find them anywhere else.
In the past 4 weeks, I've blown through 4 rolls of tape.
I intend to wash the diapers (via washing machine) between uses.
I actually DID use mini pads for a while when this first started and they were just tiny wounds. I don't/can't reuse those. Now, my entire shin looks like hell! It looks waterlogged!!
What insert?
I was thinking of just full square diapers that I could possibly fold in half and wrap completely around my leg. At least 6" wide and 18" long.
Yes, that's where I am.
Thanks!!
Cloth diapers these days have an absorbent pad that come in various sizes that gets inserted into the waterproof exterior of the diaper. You can find many of them by just searching for reusable diaper inserts
I don't think people really sell those old diapers any more but if you have any old towels you can cut them up and use those..
I don't have any old towels.
Muslin cloths might work..
Lol. I can't afford the air fare.
Where did the wound come from Funk?
Basically, edema. It causes my legs to "fill up" with this yellowish liquid so, all I have to do is lightly BUMP something against my leg and it pulls layer of skin off and that gets the yellow stuff oozing from the would. It's almost like a blister that bursts but takes WEEKS to heal!! Well, about 4 or 5 months ago, I BUMPED a cardboard box and the wounds are STILL oozing like a fucker!! I have to change the bandages every day, it takes me at least half an hour and I have to cover my foot and bottom half of my leg with a plastic bag of some kind at night to keep from soaking the bed!! I keep my sock on to help suck up some of the liquid and when I take it off in the morning, it's DRENCHED and I could wring it out and get a few OUNCES from my sock!!
