My friend was afraid of heights, but I'm not, so I wanted to do him a favor. Plus, I actually enjoy going up like this. It was late afternoon, but after I discovered all the repairs we needed, we also required parts. I certainly was not going to come back down the mast and then go back up. It's just too much labor getting somebody up there. My friend took off to get the parts, and I made myself comfortable in a sling attached to the rope halyard that had pulled me up the mast. I fell asleep. When I woke up, it was dark, and six hours later. It turned out my friend had had car trouble on the highway and was stuck there until he could get a repair truck or someone to come out and help him. He also didn't have a cell phone with him because he had left it on the boat. I was pretty comfortable there, and I wasn't too concerned. But I also had no easy way of getting down by myself, so I just waited a bit. My friend eventually appeared, pulled me down, and we went out for dinner. I did the repairs on his boat the next morning, and everything was good.

@Staximus well, it actually wasn't that bad since I've been to the tops of a lot of masts in my life to repair different things. On the docks where I kept my boat, I was known for being willing to do that and was often called upon by friends and neighbors to be helpful in that way. This was because not many people were willing to do that, and to hire somebody to do it was extremely expensive. Even people who get paid to do it are afraid of it. I'm not, because the gear and ropes that are used to pull you up to the top of the mast are extremely strong, and people usually don't get hurt when they do this. I've never charged anyone to do it.

5 dA drug house on new years. I was 17, waiting for someone to do a devils lettuce transaction. Got shitfaced, fell asleep, woke up to some chick flying across the floor.
Tried to talk it out with her boyfriend which ended with me throwing up on his shoes and his face smashed on the floor.
I tried to clean up my mess but this crackhead was looking at me funny and I'm thinking "how fucked up am I that this fucking kid thinks I'm crazy?" Look down, I've been just smearing my puke in the same spot for a solid minute or two 😂 like it was not getting cleaned up at all.
So I throw him $40 which I was sure must've been at least $100 in crack head holiday dollars.
Few days later I found out that was the guy I was supposed to meet.

The only time I’ve fallen asleep anywhere other than my bed was years ago on the living room sofa, and my brother carried me back to my room. I can’t really relax anywhere outside my home it's the only place where I truly feel relaxed. Still... after a long, exhausting day, if getting home will take a while, I sometimes close my eyes and lean on my partner or a friend, just to rest for a little while.

6 dWhen we were growing up we had a big , old Belgian work horse named Mack and I would often visit with him in his stall and climb up onto his back. 2 or 3 times I actually dozed off just sitting there and he was so gentle he would just stand there until someone finally came into the barn and woke me up.

6 dWhen I was in highschool, I worked at a chicken farm in the summer and one day I was sick, so during lunch I climbed into a wooded feed bin and fell asleep. I woke up an hour later, realized people were probably wondering where I was, so I found my farm manager and explained it to him. He let me go home.

3 dWeirdest Place... on the floor of the computer room at the power control center where we had installed new equipment. I had been up for more than 24 hours.
This was a long time ago, but I still remember it. A co-worker woke me up after I slept for about an hour... so that we could install some more equipment.

6 dOn the floor of the lobby of my community college. My class didn't get out until 10pm. My ride was late and didn't get there until 11;00. I was really tired and sat next to the heater. I put my books on. the ground and just wanted to rest my eyes. I dozed off and security woke me up. They accused me of being homeless. When I clearly had my books next to me.

Underneath one of the racks at Home Depot, in a giant box full of patio furniture cushions. I worked on the night crew 20 years ago and was on my lunch break. Working from 10:00 p. m. to 7:00 a. m. sucks and I had an hour lunch break. I woke up two and a half hours later hahaha.

Like some other people mentioned, I also fell asleep behind the wheel driving. Back in 1999 on the way to my friend's wedding outside of Seattle. I fell asleep driving 90 mph up the 5 freeway through Oregon in the middle of the night. The drunk bumps on the highway shoulder woke me up right before I flew off the freeway into some giant trees

That’s awesome. I often fantasize about having a nap, but it would require a hiding spot. That is definitely a great spot!

@TrueConfection I was putting a computer system in a department store. I had to test a line and went up in the ceiling and hooked up the circuit tester. My partner went to the server room to test the other end. I just closed my eyes for s second and I just fell asleep.,

@TrueConfection We used to work nights because the store did not want us there during the day. We were also putting a system in a brand new Lechmere store. So we were working all the time. I was making a lot of money but we were all zombies. One night we were eating what we called lunch at 2AM. We both fell asleep for a couple of hours.
