Is bleeding from the anus a sign of cancer?

I was bleeding a lot this morning and wondering if that could be a sign I have stomach cancer.

Well first off this isn’t the place to come for medical advice. Seek medical advice from your PCP. But since you asked it could be a lot of things. If it’s bright red it’s usually an indication of something that’s closer to the exit of the anus. If it’s darker, more like coffee like it’s usually an indication of old blood from farther up in the intestines. It could be an anal fissure (tear). Maybe you’re constipated so straining to have a bowel movement. Anal sex. Maybe you’re wiping too hard. Could be a hemorrhoid. Could be polyps. Just go see your doctor. I’m not a doctor. You’re probably worried about what they might find, but imagine if you don’t go for it to just get worse when it was something that was easily fixable.

Not necessarily. You could have hemorrhoids or hemorrhoidal tissue, or any number of other things. Don't self diagnose, see a doctor.

It's the main sign regardless of colour. Most of the time it's hemorrhoids but they're more common in men. Another possibility is an anal fissure. Salmonella can also cause bloody stools. I'd see a doctor

This. It could be varices. It could be a lot of things. Some of these things are medical emergencies right now, especially if your clotting is weak as mine is. Others will sort themselves out in days. I'd see a doctor, quickly.

Not necessarily, no; there could be plenty of other, more benign reasons.

Was the blood brightly colored, fresh blood, or was it dark red blood that looked more like coffee grounds than actual blood?

Bright red blood is definitely not stomach cancer, so you're most likely fine.

If anything, it's probably just a hemorrhoid, or a small tear in the anus. Bright blood means in hasn't been through your digestive system, and is coming from an external, or near external, source.

I wouldn't worry, wnd it should go away, but if it doesn't, see your doctor so they can check for hemorrhoids.

Probably hemorrhoids or polyps, but get checked just to be safe. Untreated polyps can go cancerous eventually.
