There is no reason for me to have a vasectomy at the moment, and I would like to start a family, so no vasectomy for me in the near future.

That and other similar surgeries like circumcision etc are perfectly ok and personal preference.

A vasectomy should be treated as a definitive end to fatherhood, some men will know earlier in life that they don't want to father kids, fine, some others will know this after having fathers kids with a partner and think it's enough.

The bad part is young men that think that women are there to snatch their sperm and baby-trap them into relationships, and that they can reverse afterwards. That's often not possible, and also often prohibitively expensive.
