Female birth control options are so invasive and the huge dose of hormones can cause problems. A vasectomy is a 10-30 minute procedure and it can be reversed with decent success rates.
It sounds great. I have found an interesting negative consequence. I made the mistake not keeping it secret.
Many women who are looking for a guy, even if they don't openly talk about it, will not find a sterile man exciting. Sure, no pregnancies to worry about, but deep down many women secretly want to get pregnant with the right guy. Baby rabies...
And never believe a woman who says otherwise. There are women who want and intend to be child-free, until and if they want babies later on, and their decision can change over time. Actions over words.
And scary enough, I went out with one woman who claimed she could not have babies. I wasn't serious about her, and she became a side piece. I was talking to her a few years later and she slipped and said she was worried about getting pregnant with this other guy she was seeing, because he was a loser. I have a great career, and she was gaming me, to drop a kid. Happens all the time. I wasn't sterile when we met. When she found I couldn't have kids, she disappeared from life.
She knew I would ensist on paternity test. Guys, always do that behind her back if she ever claims the baby is yours. Even if you're happily married.

Consider getting a reversal but having a baby again is not on my top to do list considering I already did it , So I am kind of set in my ways , I want to meet a beautiful girl that wants to spoil each other and travel the world I am ok if she already has kids or doesn’t want kids etc. But I would love to meet a girl that just wants to spoil each other , have lots of sex and travel the world and go places I never experienced, You would think finding that girl wouldn’t be hard but sadly in todays world it is00 Reply
+1 yNo, I think birth control (when used outside a medical context and are actually a choice) is unnecessary. The people who don't need birth control will use it and those who need it will not.
I dont plan on using any birth control unless it's a IUD, which is still extremely unlikely.

But like should guys that just want to fuck around and never have kids just get one?
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill I'm not sure how to answer that since I'm against the premise here, namely the "fuck around" part of it and if you're smart enough to decide you dont want kids, you probably should. Either way, I'm sure there's downsides to the procedure itself but considering the current legal climate regarding fatherhood, if you just want to get laid, sterilization would indeed work.
- +1 y
Ya that’s kinda what I was thinking. Its just really bad how guys who don’t want to be fathers still get women pregnant
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill pregnancy is a two person problem, I honestly dont believe that anyone who isn't the nurturing type in the slightest should be forced to undergo parenthood.
- +1 y
Ya but that doesn’t make abortion ethical tho
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill never meant to say that it was, people have abortions for various reasons.

Vasectomies are fine for people with a complete childwish. They are not easily reversible, that’s a myth people should really stop promoting. Reversals are almost never reimbursed by medical insurance and can cost up to 20K US$. In addition, if the original vasectomy was more than 10y ago it’s most of the time not even worth trying.
I’m all for shared responsibilities and men taking their share but please show all the parameters honestly. Again, they’re not so easily reversible as you paint it and in addition, up to 6% of men that had a vasectomy end up with chronic pain in their lower abdomen or have pain while ejaculating.
20 ReplyA vasectomy is a simple procedure, and neither the male nor the female experience anything differently after the vasectomy. The more time that passes after the vasectomy, the less likely it can be reversed. Sperm continue to be produced, but have nowhere to go, so the body starts treating it as something foreign and immediately sets to kill any sperm produced. Once your body gets used to killing sperm, it will continue, even after a reversal.
I can share a warning I wished I knew about before I had my vasectomy. Make sure the doctor makes the incision low on the scrotum. When a penis becomes erect, skin from the scrotum is stretched up onto the shaft. If the incision is made higher on the scrotum, the area of the incision becomes part of the erection, and friction can cause discomfort until the incision is fully healed.

+1 yI've thought about it... but I've had a few friends that did it. They all started looking like fat bitches after a few years. So I think something started fucking with them all hormonally. My wife got her tubes tied so I've been capt. creampie since. I've seen her on BC and other women on BC and it fucks with them... I think that is hormones as well. It can take the most loving woman and turn her into the type of bitch you feel like you're walking on egg shells around.
I wished I could just shoot blanks without it fucking with me. I'd be a total slut and just creampie every chick that giggles.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yYou don't think a vasectomy isn't invasive and can cause issues?
And it isn't always reversible, that is why it is intended to be a permanent form of birth control. They aren't even 100% effective either. There is a chance of it failing. Very unnecessary risk, for something that is equally as effective as wearing a condom.
I'll consider having one done if I know that I'm done having kids. All of these men, especially men in their EARLY 20s, falling for this "be a good guy and get a vasectomy!" bs are insane.12 Reply
Opinion Owner+1 yIs invasive

I agree it shouldn't be done until someone is certain that they don't want offspring, but compared to female birth control options it's less taxing.

+1 yI wish I had one right now. I looked into it and went to the Dr. for the initial consultation. It's a matter of insurance not paying for it and not having any time right now to recover and also not wanting to pay that $ out of pocket.
If someone offered me a week to recover and a free procedure, I'd sign up this afternoon.
10 Reply 314 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Nah. The secret to my success in life has been not dating women who treat their bodies like trashcans & urinals. I know a sucker who let his wife talk him into getting cut in exchange for her "allowing" him to buy something he wanted. Fool.

+1 yAnd this isn’t invasive? Honestly I probably would not. Decent success rates don’t sound good.
I mean there is pills and condoms that aren’t invasive.
But this is me personally. I don’t make a habit of just sleeping around. So I don’t have to worry about it.
If I was married…. I do want kids so then again still probably not
00 Reply734 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I got a vasectomy. My wife tried the thing in her arm but it made her gain weight. Then she tried the iud. Her periods were a major bloody mess. It was stressing her out. We already had two kids so I told her she did enough and I got snipped. I figured it was only fair

Thanks for your comment, I feel that some people here really undermine the consequences of female birth control methods.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 ySo im actually getting one. Got the appointment set up. Here is the scoop. If you are even thinking about reversing it in the future they won't do it. Why? Because it is meant to be permanent. Reversal is typically thousands of dollars and not covered by insurance. And there is absolutely no guarantee that a reversal will lead to a successful pregnancy. Vasectomies are not considered a temporary form of birth control. And should not be treated as such.
30 ReplyWhile I have and always will used a condom every-time I've had intercourse that doesn't absolve women from using birth control, and they have over 30 methods that they can use to find one that suits them best, guys only have 4, not in any order, condom, vasectomy, withdrawal, or abstention. If a male pill came on the market it seriously doubt that women would trust any man that said he was using it.

Likewise the question itself says a lot about the undesirability of investing time & resources in you for any reason beyond using you as a play thing.02 Reply- +1 y
What if someone is in love with/planning on marrying a guy but they are not financially in a good place to be parents?
Opinion Owner+1 y@whatthefluff if you know your going to marry him, then do it no point in waiting. Otherwise don't sleep with him as that is not soo different than marrying him in the historically practical sense.
As for children they are not so expensive as you think. Almost nobody ever thinks their ready but you are ready if your together. You need to remember for hundreds of thousands of years children have been born to parents who had absolutely nothing and could barely feed themselfs.
You live in the lab of luxury today regardless of your circumstances.
Beyond that if your still determined to delay chemical birth control is almost always far less consequential and permanent than any surgical operation. It is also far more appropriate as if you don't see yourself being ready to marry within a year or so he's not the man for you.
A vasectomy makes little sense for any length of time even less for so short a period.
i had one, to protect my ex wife’s life. it affected me in no way. but the myth of its reversible is false. and it’s expensive as it’s not covered by insurance.
If you get one assume it’s not reversible. period. i heard something like 70% success rate. That means a 30% failure rate. that means 30 guys will never have kids out of every 100. not good odds at all for a “ Temporary solution” to birth control.00 ReplyVasectomies are not always reversible though. As a matter of fact, the longer you wait to reverse it, the less likely it will be reversed. So it is a bigger risk than you give it credit for.
30 ReplyYeah I had one earlier in the year, my fiance and I don't want any more kids and the implant was just messing with her too much.
I had the scalpel-free option, which isn't really reversible, or so my surgeon said, and reversible ones are less and less reversible each year.
03 Reply- +1 y
What do you mean by “the implant was just messing with her too much.”
Are you saying its added problems to your sex life? - +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill It messed with her hormones, gave her mood swings and weight gain.

The first two days felt uncomfortable, and then I lived happily ever after.
Just one note: a successful reversal becomes more and more unlikely with time passing.

+1 yNegative. Vasectomies are “reversible” procedurally, but less than 50% of reversed vasectomies can healthily father children. Vasectomies themselves are a scam. Men who receive vasectomies are routinely found responsible for children. Ell oh ell!
00 ReplyNever. And it can affect a man's performance ability. Men have a much longer time for being fertile than women do so a man would be giving up many more years of potential if he did that than if a woman did it.

10 Reply608 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. I have gotten it and the success rate (meaning you can actually get someone pregnant) decreases each year. Also nobody who gets it does so without seeing it as permanent. If you never want kids, get one. It's cheaper in the long run.

@WhiteBoyChill I don’t not want kids. It’s just not that hard to keep my baby gravy outside of women’s vaginas, so I’d rather not get a vasectomy when I can just shoot my goo somewhere else.
- +1 y
I see. I guess that’s fair enough as long as you aren’t deliberately cumming inside the vagina
- +1 y
@WhiteBoyChill that’s my thought process. People don’t realize that it’s really not the easiest thing in the world to impregnate a woman; a lot of things have to line properly for that to happen.
- +1 y
I see. So with the right precautions and common sense, its generally pretty easy to avoid
