When I check the definition of "nightingale treatment", the internet tells me the following:

Nowhere is it mentioned that this treatment has to be given by a female nurse. A male nurse can do the job as well.

It is not women that feel sorry for you unless you want them to do something that is not part of their regular nursing treatment.
