Broke my toe, should I got to urgent care?

Broke my pinky toe yesterday. Fiancée wants me to go to urgent care. I don’t want to go, it’s just my pinky toe. It does however look like a grape. No loss of mobility. Hurts when I walk but not crazy unbearably. I want to just wear my comfy shoes and go on with my life. Would it be dumb of me to not go? If I go It’s either I go tomorrow or Monday as urgent care is closed on the weekend (will not go to ER). So i have to make a decision tonight.

The responsible answer is yes, you should go. I probably wouldn't go myself though unless I thought it needed to be set and would cause trouble on down the line. But then I don't go to the doctor for anything. I'm 65 and never even been to a doctor for a checkup.

if you don't I'd recommend getting a "toe splint from the nearby pharmacy.

Nurse here. I would go to urgent care tomorrow. Most EDs are full or way too busy as it is.

Yes it is only a broken toe, but it is still good to get checked out in case there is anything concerning.

You are going to have to go to the ER. Urgent care doesn't usually have x-ray equipment and you will need it. Also, the break will get worse and infected. Then they have to amputate the toe.

Pretty much every Urgent Care Clinic in my area have x-rays on site.

Meh. They will just tape it to the little piggie that had none. Check online "how to treat a broken toe".

DMSO applied throughout the day will sort it. Just understand the dangers of improper use. Make sure you read up on it. Some people say knitbone / comfrey is good too.
