LOL, I'm a low tide fanatic. The New England coast is primarily rocky rather than sandy. And our cold waters can be crystal clear. When the tide goes out it creates thousands of tide pools. And in those tide pools or the shallow water close to shore you can find all sorts of life. Eels, seaworms that bite, small fish, lobsters, rock crabs, swimmer crabs, green crabs, decorator crabs, hermit crabs, horseshoe crabs, anemones, mussels, various clam species, scallops, periwinkles (snails), the occasional skate, starfish, sea urchins, etc. When my sons were teens it wasn't unusual for the 3 of us to be in the water for 4 hours at a time with snorkel gear towing a small one person inflatable boat that became our portable aquarium each day. All of our finds went into the boat which was partially filled with water. At the end of a collecting session, all of them went back into the water.

As for beach days I like High Tide so you can ride the waves in. As for Low Tide I like when you can go treasure hunting & find really cool shells, rocks & more.

I don’t like High Tide during or after a hurricane because it really destroys the beaches & floods a lot of low areas.

Thanks for the reminder about the tides, I’ll have to check mine & beach it up.

High tide just covers everything with water, I much prefer low tide because it exposes a fresh new world ever day (and a few tasty snacks)

High tides are best when there's a groundswell hitting the coast sending big waves crashing up the cliffs, but probably most fascinating here is a small town where on very high tides the sea floods over the carpark and onto the main road.

Low tide. High tide is very unpredictable and things can turn bad in a heartbeat!

    I think low tide.

Low tide is wonderful for beach combing, finding sand dollars and shells, as well as flotsam. Also, tidal pools full of wondrous creatures are exposed on certain beaches.

As a surfer, the waves were better when the tide was coming in. And on certain nights, the grunion would run at high tide.

High tide, especially storm and spring tides. Fun watching it creep closer to the seafront promenade.

Is it going to let some beach huts drift away out to sea? It has happened in the past!

I like to go swimming at high tide. however low tide reveals marine life and ocean ecology that is pretty interesting and then there is all the neat stuff that you find washed up on the beach.

High tide is both an arrival and a presence, but low tide is aftermath and exposure.

    Diurnal spring low tide.
Because: in navigation it requires more precise travel timing and attention 🙂.
Especially in regions with general low water depths.
    Add rocks and coral banks.

Low tide. You get to see the bottom of what was the ocean. I also like that it makes the beach much wider. The sand there is firmer too, making long walks easier on the feet.

Not quite a salt water person, I've seen what it's done to my country. Those with two much salt water have gone nuts they are rusting their brains out and there logic.

Low tide. I guess it would uncover newly arrived things like sea shells.

Both is quite natural, I see nothing strange about either high or low tide.

High tide. How far the oceans reach can wash up sea shells and the feeling of water against your feet.
