I use an electric brush (soft). Only because it has a two minute timer. My dentist said you should brush your teeth for 2 minutes, twice a day.

Usually electronic toothbrushes but right now regular unit I can replace it with a new one.

I had one that I can change the head so when it was time for a new brush I replaced the head the handle isn't working anymore but I had it for 5 + years. No build up or anything

I have tried both but still find regular is better for really getting in angles and not damaging gumline

I did not. It has a reminder after so many times being turned on to replace the head. It is a little indicator light that flashes.

As long as I clean the head after I brush and change the head when it tells me, I have never had any issue with that brand.

Nope. I clean them and they need to be changed every 3-4 months anyway.
