Do you think electronic toothbrush cleans teeth better?

My dentist suggested that for the places I cannot reach easily. I change my toothbrush every 3 months. If I get that, I don't think I can change it every 3 months because it is very expensive! Using the same head for a long time seems more unhealthy to me. What do you think? What is your experiences with electronic toothbrush?

Firstly, when there's only a motor then you say "electric", not "electronic".

Your dentist is clearly a fool, led astray by the shiny promises of these new-fangled toothbrushes. Electric toothbrushes are for the lazy and the feeble-minded, unable to muster the strength to brush their own teeth like a real human being.

Those expensive, fancy-schmancy toothbrushes are as useful as a screen door on a submarine. They vibrate and spin, oh so fancy, but do they really get the job done? No sir, they do not! Those toothbrush heads, spinning like a top, are as clueless as a chicken in a tornado, bouncing off your teeth like a ping-pong ball, spreading plaque and germs everywhere.

Stick to the good old-fashioned manual toothbrush, my friend. It's a tried and true warrior in the battle against cavities, a real hero that doesn't need batteries to save the day. Those electronic toothbrushes are like paying a fortune for a fancy car that doesn't even have an engine!

As for changing the heads, pfft, what a scam! It's like paying a toll to a troll who lives under a bridge made of sugar, demanding payment for every trip while giving you cavities! You don't need that nonsense in your life. A good old manual toothbrush is as reliable as the sun, and you can bet your bottom dollar it'll get the job done without breaking the bank.

So, my advice? Tell that dentist to stick their 'electronic' toothbrush where the sun don't shine! You're better off without their so-called expertise. Your wallet and teeth will thank you, and those 'electronic' toothbrushes can go take a long walk off a short pier!

I've looked into this question and there is some debate regarding electric toothbrushes among experts.

Whether or not it's more effective than a regular toothbrush depends on a lot of factors. If having an electric toothbrush makes it easier to brush so you do it more regularly then clearly the electric toothbrush will have the advantage.

But you can accomplish the same results without an electric toothbrush if you brush properly. I'm fortunate to have a very good dentist in my family and learned early about proper brushing. Many people do not know how to do it correctly. And now, coming up on age 70 my teeth are in excellent condition.

I don't think it makes a lot of difference whether you use a regular toothbrush or an electric toothbrush, the key is to brush regularly and properly. And you also need to floss daily. I would not depend on those electric flossing toothbrushes for that.

I also use a tongue scraper every day. Only takes a few seconds and it can really reduce the bad bacteria in your mouth.

Properly using a regular (soft bristle) toothbrush on a regular basis, flossing and tongue scraping every day has done the job for me for all these years and kept my teeth in very good condition. So that's what I can tell you from my own personal experience.

I agree that it is important to replace your toothbrush on a regular basis because the bristles become less effective over time.

I used to own a few and it did work good. But I switched back to regular toothbrushes and just brush 3 times a day (as well as floss when needed). Brushing and flossing when needed is the key to good oral hygiene. With or without an electronic toothbrush. 🪥

A doctor told my dad cavities are always caused by bacteria and not low calcium diets so if you gurgle your mouth with salt water every night, you will never have cavities again since salt kills bacteria.

There are lots of electric toothbrush brands and models. You can use a less expensive one. I use an Oral-B, and it’s quite good. You only really get pricey when you get into the sonic ones and i paid a fair bit for a Waterpic station once, but you didn’t have to replace the heads on it so often. In fact, not at all. It came with different heads for different purposes, but they weren’t disposable.
A waterpic is the way to go, for my money! THAT is a novel sensation and you can see, feel and, early on, smell the results!

Philips Sonicare heads don't contain mechanical parts and aren't expensive. 10 US for 3 heads which are enough for a year.
I find Sonicare toothbrushes remove plaque better than Oral B or other rotation head electric toothbrushes. Cheaper Sonicare below 60 USD have lower oscillation speed and are for people with very sensitive gums less annoying.

They do but the problem is the person brushing with one of those starts to lack and get lazy. So it's sometimes proven in studies that a normal brush is better. But in reality that's just on said person for not brushing as well. Not the tool it's self.

Don't they all come with replaceable attachments? You just change the end out whenever you're ready and keep the electric handle and the charger. That's how mine works.

Yes it’s more effective. And you change the brush heads when they need changing by looking at the colour indicator. Replacements are affordable when you shop around.

I use mine as addition at times. Nithing better than brush baking soda and plain water… sometimes salt added to bsking soda.


Toothpaste is bresth freshner.

I've had the same toothbrush for over 5 years. I think I last changed the head about 2 years ago.
I probably should change it... but it hasn't got frayed yet... somehow.

I have an electric tooth brush recommended by my dentist and I just change the head every 3 to 6 months depending on how worn it gets.

Yes and you can throw away the top bit with the actual brush on it, they sell those for cheap separately.
