Did you know if you have a negative blood type and your partner has a positive blood type and you get pregnant with a baby with the positive blood type, your body is going to fight the baby, your immune system will work to destroy your baby. This is new to me. You'd have to get a shot at the doctor while pregnant that masks your baby from your own immune system, pretty wild shit

I don't know if they are still doing this or not but in the 70's when I was getting married, we had to have a blood test with both of our blood for the Rh factor to see if our blood was compatible so we wouldn't have a child with birth defects.

No, we couldn't get married. This was a mandatory blood test.
If your blood wasn't compatible I don't think that the couple were allowed to marry.

That happened with my wife so yes, I knew that. She is negative and the guy who helped get her pregnant though his donation was positive. I believe the shot is called rhogam. It's interesting though that it happens. I wonder how many babies were lost before we made that discovery. Tragic stuff.
