Why do my armpits still smell bad even with daily deodorant?

I use deodorant daily , shower daily and still once I put on deodorant I smell right away and strong odor I can’t stop. An expensive $8 deodorant has not worked in case you say to use an expensive one.

Girl, first of all, don’t feel ashamed. ❤️ This can happen even when you shower every single day and take really good care of yourself. It doesn’t automatically mean you’re unhygienic.

One thing I’d check is whether you’re using deodorant or antiperspirant. Deodorant helps control odor, but antiperspirant actually helps reduce sweating. I’d also try applying antiperspirant to completely dry armpits before bed, rather than only putting it on after your morning shower.

Sometimes the issue is also the bacteria on the skin mixing with sweat, or even bacteria lingering in clothing. Make sure your tops are properly washed and completely dry before wearing them.

But if the smell is unusually strong and nothing seems to help, I’d honestly see a dermatologist. There can be things like excessive sweating or changes in body chemistry behind it, and there’s no reason to keep struggling with it alone.

And please don't let anyone make you feel “dirty” over this. Bodies are weird sometimes. 😭😂❤️

I was using an aluminum free one ph balanced and it didn’t work made me smell even worse

There’s a number of reasons that could be causing this. One is diet. Depending on what you eat it could cause serious body odor. It could also be certain types of medications. It could be some underlying medical condition as someone pointed out. It could also still be on your clothes. Sometimes when clothes aren’t washed properly that smell can still be in your clothes, so when you wear them the odor flares up more. I’m not sure if you’re aware of it or not but body odor happens when sweat mixes w the bacteria on your skin. If you’re overweight could be more sweat in skin folds, not drying off properly.

The main things are like garlic, onions, strong spices and alcohol.

Maybe you're a black person and that's just how you smell? Not all, but some of them are musty smelling af.

I remember back in my college days in Psychology class, our professor was telling us how he was studying Schizophrenics and they had a very particular oder. He said they literally would have them wears suits with tubes in it to test the air coming off of them and they couldn't figure out why they all had that smell, but they all had that smell. He was a black man telling us this so you know it had to stink. Do you have any family history with schizos?

Diet, exercises, habits, health?

You will probably benefit from eating more whole foods and vegetable products.

Less animal products and processed/industrial foods.

Cook from scratch using the basic foods such as a carrot.

Dairy should be minimally eaten.
