I ate part of a bad orange, will I get food poisoning?

I was eating an orange and one part tasted kind of weird. I looked at the skin and I saw a black circle, really small like half a cm wide, and so I figured the part I ate must have been rotten or something... will I get sick?

I have an orange tree in my back yard, and most of the time those black circles are just bruises from the fruit being squashed together on the tree. I doubt its mould or anything, but its still fine to eat. You don't usually get food poisoning off fruit, I don't think.

Penicillin is made from mold. You should be fine. If you start to vomit and have diarrhea then you have food poisoning. That should be in about 12 hrs from eating your orange.

I ate a rotten (black) shrimp once and I got very sick. Very painful gastrointestinal cramping. But I don't think rotten orange would be nearly as bad as a shrimp.

Rotten proteins are much more dangerous than carbohydrats. Especially such like shrimps, crabs, lobster and also innards. Here it gets quick a changing in toxin. This is the reason, why all the packages have a date for eating. You can keep it in frig only a short time. Outsaide of a frige, after a very short time you are playing "va banque". (french term for a y risky game)

It seems to be mould, not a real catastrophe, maximum can be small digest problems, more it isn`t.

The bad part of an orange isn't gonna hurt you in the long run.

you might use a few feet of the toilet roll.

In the WORST case you might throw up.

Nothing to panic about.
