Does it matter if a girl doesn't like sports?

I don't like sports. If the game is on, I find something to do to entertain myself because sports are not my thing at all. A friend told me that guys love girls who enjoy sports, well I am not one of them. So is this good, bad, or unimportant?

it depends on the kinda guy you want, I do not like sports ether and I wouldn't want a girl who did. some guys act like it is there religion because there dads tough them that crap. I have lots of friends I know and none of them are in to sports thank god. so just stay away from the ones that are sports fanatics and you will be OK if a guy is in to sports a little and he likes you he will make sacrifices but if not then let him go to bed with his Sports. Just be who you are and let a guy know it right from the start and there won't be any surprise. So don't make a big deal out of it you will be just fine. Later...

I'm only marginally into sports, and generally only pay slight attention during the playoffs. To me personally, it really doesn't matter if a girl is or isn't into watching sports on television. If anything, I would prefer that she wasn't a big sports freak. I'd rather have a girl that read books or actually played sports, or did some other healthy exercise and kept herself in shape. On the contrary, if a girl should be obsessed, let it be something physically or mentally productive.

I'm not into sports either, and luckily the fella I'm currently dating isn't either--before I met him I didn't think such a man existed ha ha

But to answer your question, I think guys who are hard core into sports WILL mind if you're not into it too. However there are guys who like sports, but can accept that you don't share their passion. No worries, it won't always be a deal breaker.

Im not overly interested either, I'll watch world cup football until England get ditched lol but that's it.. I can have a discussion about it though and I do love watching the olympics...gymnastics and figure skating (some guys may not consider this 'sport' in the spirit of the word lol) . Of course I love the races too. But a 24hr interest? Its just not that serious...

I don't think guys have a love of sports listed as a requirement as much as they might consider it a "bonus." Just like with music, movies, other hobbies... it's just another thing that the person loves that they can share with their partner. Although differences are fine to some degree, it's nice to have someone with some similar interests as well.

so long as you don't think it's entertaining to come up to a guy while he'[s enjoying a game and say things like "Can you talk?", "why are you ignoring me?", "Aren't you done yet?", etc. then you should be fine. Go for a walk, read a book, play video games in the other room, whatever. Just don't be a buzz kill.

I like sports but only to physically play them, I can't honestly say I have any interest in watching them, only MMA. I wouldn't care if the girl liked them anyway.. its my thing

Exactly. People need to distinguish between "watching" sports and "playing" them. That's basic but both concepts never get properly exposed.

To me its because I honestly can't get my head around the idea that most people have a genuine interest in watching them... if that were true then why do different regions of the globe have different preferred sports as a whole. Europe, Africa and South America are into Football (or soccer) with no interest in hockey, Canada is into hockey with no interest in football or American football. America is into American football with no interest in football. People most just follow trends like sheep
