Im clueless...I can't even make pretend I know what's going on...and though "they" say there are no stupid questions, I'm quite sure I've asked the dumbest questions ever imagined when it comes to trying to understand a game...doesnt matter what sport it is...
Ive never had a guy have a problem with that...as long as I don't get in the way of them watching the game or something. Most times, if I get too unbearable, I get chip duty...as in...just eat the chips, have some beer and cheer when they do...lol!
But yeah, most guys don't mind explaining what's going on and like talking about their game or their team or whatever. Its way better than the alternative of whining or nagging about whatever time they devote to watching sports. And hey, chip duty isn't all that bad :)

i think guys want a girl who gets the concept and will disappear if the guys show up lol
As a guy who loves sports, I'll say this: I really like it when a girl likes sports and understands them, but I don't mind if they don't know anything about them. The problem is when the girl tries to pretend or tries to get excited about sports. There's not much that's more irritating than a girl who asks inane questions all game long or who cheers something dumb like "homerun" when they kick a field goal in football. Stick to your strengths. If you don't know sports, that's perfectly fine. Just own up to it instead of feeling like you need to pretend.
Understanding the game itself shouldn't be a requirement at all.
Accepting the sport, and understanding the persons enjoyment in it is what should be required.
It's not a matter of cute either.
On a side note, she should want to understand why the person likes the game. What it makes him feel. Think.
Avoid those questions if it's a simple game like american football or something.

Well, seeing as I barely grasp the concept of most sports... No, it wouldn't be a turnoff at all. My girlfriend understands football better than I do. lol
Agreed...pretending is a turn-off, but not knowing is just fine. I like explaining some things, but not constantly...so do a little homework before hand...
I am a hudge sports fan love baseball the most grew up playing it and I am a hudge dodgers fan. But anyways I really like when a gal knows her stuff but I can also explain it to her about what's going on.
I don't think its a turn off at allI think its kind of cute when I have to explain the offside rule in soccer and stuff like that :p

I don't think it would be either way.i think its cute :D I have to explain everything lol
No, because I could care less about sports, so I don't mind if a girl that I like isn't into sports.
