Seriously, what do you guys think about gaps?

And my dad and brothers do. It's sorta our family trait or something.

I've heard some people say they are ugly. Like why doesn't Madonna get hers fixed.

And on America's Next Top Model they made a girl get hees closed.

And some people think they are cute and add character.

I used to consider getting mine closed. Lately I more so accept it as part of what makes me, me...

I used to have a huge gap between my teeth when I was a kid but the dentist gave me braces and so I haven't had one in over ten years.

I didn't know this was a thing for people, I just figured every one was given braces and it was all closed up.

Personally it really bugs me, it looks so... Not ugly just... childish, I guess? It looks like a little kid and that's creepy for me, on a grown up. But no every one thinks that way (obviously) and to each his own, if you like it, then keep it, if not then get rid of it. DOn't do it based on what others think, do it on what YOU think. You can't live your life only doing what every one else will think is the prettiest or the best option.

So go with what you want.

I agree with you on feeling it's childish I have one too, but how long did you have braces I'm thinking about getting some

I had them for two years and I only had four on the top and four on the bottom, the front four teeth in each case.

They make me look cute but I got tired of my friends making comments so I have braces now but none of my guy friends made comments about it maybe once a guy that was bullying made a negative comment but that was elementary and he was younger than me so I didn't care.

I don't want to close my gap all the way because its part of me and I think id look weird without it

It's the kind of thing that can be cute or interesting when you are pretty in general.

If you're not attractive it just adds to the unattractiveness.

it's an imperfection,and just like most imperfections-you let it slide on an overall attractive person,sometimes it even makes them more interesting,and if you find a person unattractive,you'll find the gap unattractive too. so really,it's whatever. doesn't make much of a difference.

I think it adds character, my aunt and all of her kids have 'em. Her kids' kids are getting them too. I don't even notice them, because I'm so used to seeing my cousins with 'em. ^-^

lolli, people will always find ways of criticising others when they themselves are imperfect. What who is perfect anyway? I think your gap is there as a mark of your indiviuality it's unique and it's what makes you you, so leave it alone. :)

I hardly ever notice but I think that's because most people do get their gaps closed. That model was very attractive and she looked interesting and cute. I think people despise Madonna so they find anything with her to be bad.

I have a gap and I have mentioned getting it fixed a few times but my boyfriend insists that I keep it because he says he loves my smile and it wouldn't be the same without my gap :) x
