Breasts measure at 37 inches but I wear a 34D/36C bra
Waist is 25 inches
Hips are 37 inches
What can I do to make my hips smaller and more petite?
You're going to have to report immediately to my personal fitness camp. By the measurements, it seems you're in a state of emergency and must be treated on a one-to-one basis.
Seriously, you're doing just fine. If you lose body fat all three measurements will get smaller. There's no way to spot reduce. You could do exercises to change proportion - like focusing on your abs, and doing quad and glute workouts (ignoring the medial head on the glutes - no side step movements) and also not doing any heavy weight inner/outer butterfly leg workouts, only low weight high rep.
I'd say run a little, and do yoga more, to lengthen muscle tissue, and if there's a reduction in body fat, you shouldn't lose too much size up top. Avoid cardio classes that have you in squat positions a lot, going side to side, like some Zumba instructors do.
By reducing body fat, your hips and everywhere else will get smaller. Your body will lose fat pretty much uniformly, but it does tend to lose the last place that it gained it first, and so on. So if you just got bigger around the hips, an overall loss of body fat will probably come from there first. If you had the hips first, and then the sweater kittens, say hello to a wonder-bra to keep your clothes fitting right.
I do long distance running so I can thin my legs down cause they're muscular & so I can get a thigh gap. Is long distance fine for making my hips smaller?
Definitely. If you're doing long distance you should ignore what I said about medial glute workouts - you need those stability muscles to avoid injury and fatigue. I'd recommend yoga to keep the tissue long and lean.
Thanks for the BA!
Sorry to answer twice, but I used my comment up and this is relevant: if you're thinking of things in terms of the scale, you're more likely to be disappointed. The most important measurement according to current experts is the waist to height ratio. Your Waist-to-Height Ratio is : 40.00 Extremely slim. link
I don't want to sound like a horndog, but those are the kind of measurements that can cause traffic pileups. Stay off the sidewalks.
not really and even then, it's not about what guys find attractive
Cool, I get it. I think you'll find the longer you run the more toned your hips will be.
I'm not in the best mood now, but I just can't understand this. Why you can't just love
yourself as you are? and if you think making yourself look rail thin, will help you be content.
that's just not the case, I'm sorry it's just not!
And, please do me a favor and quit calling woman fat! Okay, just because you think they
might be, doesn't mean they are, okay? Also, if you're so convinced that making these
changes are right, why do you come on here and ask about it? Just rescreach it, like most people
would! I'm not trying to mean, I just don't get why looks are so important to you, because
there's more life then great looks and a kick ass body!? I'm just sayin.
But, if doing all these things will make you happy, I wish you luck, sweetheart! : ) Good luck, I
hope you achieve your goal and that it makes you as happy, as you think it will! best wishes!
Fat is fat and whether I say it or someone else does, we're all thinking it when we see an overweight person. I'm also not sure how you came to even bring up fat people, cause I said nothing about fat chicks
But people answered my question :) That is what this site is for
I know and I'm sorry if a I was a jerk, I just think you should be focusing on other things in
your life, other then your weight. Life is to short, to focus on things that don't matter as much
as you think. Plus, I have female cousins that a muscular and it's no big deal, they look
great! Everybody is bulit differently, but do whatever makes you happy!
I'm sorry for being blunt, I just hate seeing young girls obsess about weight, because it's just
sad and not right! I'm sorry, I was rude. : (
You're one positive polly lol
first of all: you need a new bra! with a 25" waist and 37" breast measurement you CANNOT be a 34D! measure below your breasts, you'll probably be a 28", 30" tops! making your real bra size closer to a 28FF or 30F. that 34" band must be riding up all the time, how can you bear it?
to make your hips smaller try some pilates exercises specifically for the hips. they work really well and you can find a few exercise videos online (YouTube for example). yoga helps, too and using the stairs a lot. but with all that you do risk of making them even bigger because you're adding muscle or making the ligaments stronger and bigger. this is going to sound weird, but if you have one of those vibrating thingies they sell on the informercials - that does get rid of a bit of fat xD or get mad at your mom for a bit for giving you the wide-hip-genes :P don't starve yourself, please!
Actually, I was measured by someone at a department store. They fit fine, because I am on the smaller side
seriously? never heard of such an hourglass before...but alright if you're fine with it.
Dark color clothing.
Boot cut jeans. With boots, perhaps?
Don't wear shirts that have patterns. Especially, horizontals. Try vertical.
I am not sure what kind of style you're into but try these and see.
I would kill to have hips. Lucky you, haha.

Just sayin'
I think this is the coolest site ever lol
link
and are your hips bony?
If they are (or you can see/fee the bone) then surgery is the only option.
you are so obsessed with changing your imagine. lol it would be funny to get a machine that would do all that you are asking, then see the result...by then you might reconsider. lol I know I didn't answer your questions. just my opinion.
There's really not much you can do because I'm guessing you don't have much fat? The size of the hip is pretty much determined by the hip bones. You could try losing pound or two of fat, if it makes any change.
Well yeah, my technical weight loss goal is 100 lbs haha
But I'm wondering if it'd have any affect on my hip size
Well it might.. Do you feel that there still is fat around your hips? Because if there is, you might be able to get inch or two off.
not really...I don't have saddle bags or anything like that. In fact, my legs are actually muscular and toned, which is leads me to my other goal: muscle atrophy to make my legs thin so I can have a thigh gap :p
I'm only 116 lbs haha, not much room for fat on my legs
Upper body wise, I'm far from toned lol
Yeah OK. For the legs I recommend long distance sports. Longer the distance, smaller the muscles.
that's what I've been doing! ha
Well, that just sounds like your body type. I mean maybe through time you can lose some inches on your waist but through long distance running like others said, might take some time to see results. In my opinion those measurements sound fine, you just have more curvyness to your body which isn't a bad thing. A lot of guys like that actually and you're a good weight for that height.
The only way is to lose weight all over. That means your bust and waist will probably shrink as well. That said, there is certainly nothing wrong with your current weight or measurements. Please don't go overboard.
There is nothing you can do about your hips. They are what they are. But you know what, what they are is sexy. Guys like hips, they are curvy. Your waist is fine, so the hips just look like awesome curves. Enjoy them. Guys are not nearly as picky as you girls are.
Post a pic, and I bet most all of the guys here will tell you your hips look great.
I don't care what guys think nor do I want people telling me I look fine just because I don't like something about myself
I don't want compliments
You got a negative vote because you chose to avoid the question and go on to make assumptions about my body
I know a lot of girls ask these questions because they want compliments, but I DON'T. I'm asking for genuine advice
I never mentioned guys in my question or what guys like because it doesn't matter. I know how I feel about myself and my body
I answered the question first and directly. There is literally nothing you can do about your hips short of surgery.
After that I added what I wanted. What is wrong with that? I can make whatever assumptions I want, and answer how I see fit. There was no reason to dock me for it. You could have ignored my post if you didn't like my ideas.
You can make whatever assumptions you want and for doing so, I thumbed you down
So what?
It doesn't affect you or your points. Upvotes and downvotes no longer affect Xper like it did before
touch your hips-if you can feel fat and your hipbones aren't visible at all-then it's fat, just lose it and they'll be smaller. if it's not fat,but your structure-deal with it.
If it's fat, you can lose it. If it's not, there not much you can do. But your body sounds like perfect haha. Maybe just try wearing things that make them look smaller?
You sound fine to me, but you could always try hipnosis.
don't wear a lines, don't wear high waist stuff. wear stuff that skims your hips and goes straight down with a waist that appears to be half way between waist and hips
You are a moron by the way :p
Your waist/hip ratio is near perfect.
wow, thanks moderator, for calling me a moron!
I should remove my comment for being abusive shouldn't I?
I'm like the worst mod ever.
Actually, I could name moderators/supermoderators who are worse than you...but every time I do that, my question gets removed :) I could name them because of how I feel towards them but no! it's not acceptable
but I'm not a moron :) I just rather be happy with my body
I would rather you be happy with your body too. But the problem isn't your body :p.
Anyway, since I hate my body, I'm off to do squats. how I wish I could just starve myself ...
Actually, the problem is my body and if I can change what I dislike about it, then I'll be content
Smaller hips are better in the future anyhow, so I don't understand why it'd be considered a problem to make them smaller now as opposed to 10 years from now
Why are they better in the future?
because they look better? duh
And if I actually ever get down to my goal weight, what the f*** do I look like with thin legs and bony hips?
But hopefully if I ever get down to my goal weight it'll make my hips and thighs small
I was wondering what you meant by now vs. 10 years from now ... I don't think it'll be too different?
25 years from now you'll probably be thankful for your natural muscle tone. That slim model look doesn't last.
Not really
I rather be thin and without muscle than with muscle
If I'm not alive 25 years from now being muscular won't matter
Plus, it's more feminine to be soft anyhow :D
I half agree, but thin and no muscle without looking saggy as sh*t isn't possible when you get older. Young women can have nice soft curves of still youthful fat supporting skin. WHen you age that vanishes. Its muscle or skin hanging off bone.
Guys don't care about that, so what would it matter? Being muscular isn't appealing anyhow.
"Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"--words of wisdom from Kate Moss
I'm talking about future, since you brought up 10 years from now. Being muscular is not as appealing as being a 20 year old slim model with soft curves. But old women can be toned or fat or skeletal with wings. Guess which of those guys like the best?
I mean, check out Madonna's arms. Are they ideal female arms? Maybe not. Are they the best option for a 50 year old woman? hell yes.
And yet no one finds her attractive
In fact, people make fun of her for still showing off her chicken legs and chicken arms, cause they look like sh*t as of today and she's still stuck in 1985
And if you prefer thinner, why does it matter to you if I want to slim down? You'd think someone with the preference for thinner would actually be supportive
A) she looks much hotter then most women her age. I think she could dress a little more appropriately perhaps -_-
B) Because I'm skeptical if you can actually make yourself look -better- overall. All of us can look 'better' by being in shape. But when you try to haul yourself from one version of in shape to one that's less in line with genetics, its a hell of a lot of work and may make you look worse. I also know plenty of guys love thicker (most thicker then me) ...,.
so ... from the standpoint of 'being attractive', given you have a generally great body, you'd be best by optimizing your genetics and making guys who think your build is perfect go nuts.
But it is your body, so I try to give you suggestions that might work for you, along with constant harassment saying you don't need to :p
Ok, but if you prefer thin women then you should at least be supportive of my goals then
If I were asking to gain weight I'm sure I'd get support from fat women lovers
And even then, I don't care what guys think. I want thin thighs with a gap and smaller hips. I rather look like this link
that what I look like already
I want to be content with my body and I don't get why that's so hard to understand
Didn't you say before you are 115lbs? no offense, but you probably do not have big hips, so no need to make them look smaller.
I don't really care if other people perceive my hips as big. If I cared, I'm sure I would have listened to the irrelevant opinions stated on here
Why do you want smaller hips?
because I want smaller hips, a more petite body shape
Like those Victoria Secret models? I think they do a bunch of running and yoga.
Wear dark jeans that aren't too tight.
This is probably bordering on harassment lol because I keep suggesting the TA method to you, but the whole method's goals are what you want. Tracy obviously can't change your bone structure, but her workouts are designed to keep your body as petite as it can be without being unhealthy. That puts a lot if people off, but I don't see how it would put you off.
Anyway, I honestly think her method is your best chance at attaining your goals. Keep it in mind. I won't bother you again about it.
exercise. but you are curvy. that's very good
Go for a run or lift some weight.
Surgery.
I didn't question your answer lol
