Girls would you go with your boyfriend to gym??

I wanna take my girlfriend to the gym with me and show her how to workout. Do most girls find this to be ok? My girlfriend doesn't really lift weights she runs but I want her to lift light weights.

I used to be an athlete, but I'd never go to the gym with my boyfriend.

He'd be bossy and pushy...which totally ruins the pleasure of working out. You might ASK her first if she's interested in lifting weights ... there might be reasons she's not interested.

What are the reasons for wanting her to life weights?

If it's so you can share something you love ... you might try finding a different mutual exercise you both can do together, that is more companionate. Girls and guys can't lift as a pair very well, you'd be taking plates off and on the whole time and irritating everyone else at the gym. Also, she wouldn't make a very reliable spotter.

If it's to change her body shape...good luck with that one. If she already works out and is happy with the way she looks, trying to mold her into your perfect catalog girl isn't really very effective and will likely make her irritated with you.

Yeah, some of us do. It depends on the girl though. At first, my boyfriend took me to a gym and I just watched him lift weights. I found it hot seeing him lift all that weight. . ;P The next time he brought me with him, I joined in. It was FUN! I'm getting healthy, fit, and learning the right ways. He told me that what I did might have gotten me broken bones and such. He explains to me what will happen if I continued on doing the exercises wrong. I'm thankful he was there to guide me, and in a nice way too. :) and it was nice to watch him rip those muscles. :) I was also curious of what work out he does, what he looks like when doing it. I also tried his workout program, he showed me how and told me how many reps I should do, If I couldn't do it, he'd make the workout or weights a bit lighter. This gets me competitive and I enjoyed it. :)

I would go to the gym with my boyfriend, but if he thinks he's going to be my coach and correct me without my asking to, he'd better expect a pissed off girlfriend. I go to the gym regularly, and if we went together, I'd expect him to go off and do his own thing while I did mine. I know what workouts work for me and he knows what work for him.

If I were unsure of how to work a machine, I'd feel comfortable asking him and he could show or tell me, and then watch me do a rep or two to make sure I'm doing it right, but that's all. He wouldn't be allowed to control what workouts I did during my time there.

I certainly hope the vast majority say "Yes" because I like having a fit body and enjoy having a healthy, active lifestyle. I'm not asking my girlfriend to work out with me every time I do but I would like her to live a somewhat similar lifestyle. Or at least keep a healthy body.

I go with my boyfriend to the gym all the time because we like to workout together but I can see how that might not work for some people.. You should just suggest it and see how she reacts. If she agrees, just go slow and let her get use to everything. Don't be pushy or act annoyed if she doesn't get something.

Yes, once I get one lol! It would be fun and interesting. I have never been to a gym to work out before. I'm not really athletic so I would just hope he didn't get annoyed at how weak I am.

Some girls have a bad attitude when you try to correct them on their form. They think they know it all when they don't. If she doesn't have a bad attitude sure I'll workout with her.
