I admit I lived a poor life-style up until a year ago.
But back to the question on hand. Is it really a big deal?
(I only brought up the losing weight part, because I had a feeling people would comment and tell me to lose weight)
being totally honest if you have too much of an "orange skin" or those marks like it sometimes happen to pregnant girls (sorry, do not know those words in English :P) I may not like to see that, but I won't be rude or even uncomfortable, and deep down a part of me would be like "brave girl" and not sarcastically, and really, yes, plenty of people would say or think mean things, I for one, won't do it, a lot of people do not like my beard when I wear it long, but if I am in the mood, I wear it long, even if I am the only one who likes it ;) and I cheer whoever has the courage to be they way they are and be comfortable on their own skin, also, if you do not have those things I mention then, not going to lie, even if chubby a curvy girl is usually sexy in my eyes so if your skin is not saggy, even if you are not supersexy, I will have no problem to look at you and hell, I may even look twince if those extra pounds are well distributed, but even if you actually look bad, you will get respect and a little admiration from you, also if you choose to do it, do it with confidence, if you let stares or comments get to you you will only look more awkward, while I seen people that while not being attractive, their sole attitud and confidence may make them even if only a little appealing, so if you feel comfortable do it, and if you do it, do it proudly :)
I have NO IDEA what you look like, so don't be offended. You asked for feedback, and here's my honest answer:
Plenty of plus-sized girls can look great in a bikini. I'll post some pics, but the key is that, even though these are bigger girls, they still have a defined waist-line and relatively flat stomachs compared to their overall body. Here are some girls that look fine in a bikini:

Now, this model is, IMO, too big for a bikini:

Her body has no hourglass shape to her at all; it's completely egg-shaped, and so a bikini just doesn't work for her.
You'll have to let your mirror tell you which category you are in, and decide from there. Anyway, kudos on the weight loss so far!
I'm like the last one in the first four.

"Last one in the first four. You look really good already. Those women WERE models, if you didn't notice. lol
Do they mind? I don't think anyone necessarily cares
All that will happen is they'll overlook you and pay attention to the hot girls. But I don't really think people are rude enough to comment...
but why are you focusing on what guys like? shouldn't the focus be on what you like and what you feel good in?
it's sick when the person you're trying to make happy isn't yourself
Wear whatever the hell you want. I applaud you for being comfortable enough to wear a bikini despite your weight. I weigh 120 and I wouldn't even wear a bikini.
What are your measurements and height and weight? Just to get a general idea
165 and 5'6 now. I started at 217.
Congrats. I say wear your bikini. Yes you sound a little chubby but certainly not obese! It's not like people will point and laugh and I'm sure there will be people bigger than you in bikinis too

Wear what you want lady. This is not something that you face alone. Forget being the larger (according to you), there are even those girls who you think are perfectly in shape have problems wearing a 2 piece (though not all) and those that are larger than you wind up wearing one and being absolutely comfortable in it while in public.
SO, end of the day the more you bother with 'what people will think' the lesser you will be comfortable with yourself in anything.
You'll be surprised at the number of men who love to watch larger women - immaterial if they see this question and answer it or not. But believe me THERE ARE SUCH MEN who love larger women and want to see them.
Haven't you also heard of Plus Size Models :) - OK they are in shape maybe though larger that you may not be but certainly no reason for you to feel confident and be comfortable with yourself :)
There are also women who don't really look attractive once they get anywhere near skinny - FACT
But controlling weight so that health and mobility is not hampered is a good idea and no harm if it makes one look good to themself :)
You know something...? This is my opinion of this very thing I came up with probably 10 years ago. I saw a lady who was probably around 250# or so sporting a thong bikini. I was shocked at first but happy in the end and I will tell you why that is.
Visually it was not pleasant to look at so that is not why I was happy. What did make me happy was that even at her current size she had the confidence to wear that and go against the grain. She was walking around the beach having a rather great day so it would seem.
There are mean people all around the world who may or may not give you bad look. I am sure this will not surprise you. If you walked by me on the beach in your bikini I would smile at you and maybe raise my glass. Thinking to myself "Hell yeah girl... do yo thang!"
Congrats on the weight loss. I hope you continue to do well. Wear the bikini and don't worry about the opinion of others. I don't think it is an issue if it isn't to you.
Live life happy!

Yep. He totally took my answer. Real women have a way of transcending opinions.
Yeah I'll probably be like "gross" in my head if she's super overweight or if the bikini is way tight and she's overweight. I wouldn't say it openly and it wouldn't stop me from speaking to you if you talked to me. The thought might occur to me then it might not. Mostly I don't care, but if I'm too bored my mind just comments on my surroundings ^^.
But why should you let what I, and other strangers think dictate what you wear. Seriously f*** what we think, that's our problem. Wear what you want. It isn't a big deal.
obviously a picture would help us give a better opinion in terms of will a bikini look good on you specifically. Frankly bikinis don't look great on everyone regardless of body type.
But I firmly believe people should where whatever they want as long as they are comfortable in it and they aren't obscene. So the real issue would be do you think you can wear a bikini.
Congrats on losing 50lbs. Good luck going forward!
You can wear whatever you want. If you want to be fat and wear a bikini, nobody can stop you. Just prepare to be ridiculed and made fun of. It doesn't matter if you are losing weight, because nobody knows about it and at that point in time, you are still fat.
People are cruel. Do what you want, but be ready for the consequences.
Last July, when I was at my familys annual reunion for the 4th, my VERY "hot" cousin tried to come out in one of her V.S bikini's. It was R-rated and there were a lot of little kids around. Her mom told her to go put her one piece on. My cousin is very thin...
Its dishustinh if you want to know. Same as fat men in speedos. Nobody wants to see it other than, statistically, poor uneducated men for some off reason. Its a health issue that should be dealt with. I am a hairy man and I don't run around with my shirt off as it looks like crap. I could shave if I wanted to be shirtless but I don't care about running around like that. Likewise, people can lose weight if the want to wear a bikini but don't disgust people by doing nothing about an eating disorder that leads to life threatening diabetes and other health problems and make people have to look at an unhealthy persons near naked body.
Well, I suppose a larger woman wearing a bikini is a similar situation to a larger man wearing a speedo - It's not always something we want to see!
Personally, I find a woman wearing a one-piece to be just as sexy as a woman wearing a bikini so don't worry if you can't pull off wearing a bikini just yet.
its not a big deal to me its your body but unfortunately there are mean people in this world but if they say anything just laugh it off because they are horrible probably ignorant people and their opinion DOESNT matter I'm pretty big on nutrition and study it a lot if you would like some healthy eating and exercising tips just let me know :)
Honestly I'm not one to sympathize for the obese unless a serious medical condition is the cause, but if I see a fat girl in a bikini I'm not going to be like "look at this fat girl thinking she looks good in a bikini." So just wear it people won't mind its not a big deal, you can wear whatever you like :-).
P.S. good job on the 50 pounds
I don't mind it. Either I enjoy the view or I just shrug my shoulders and look at something else, either way, it's not a big deal for me.
Why do you care what others think or say about you. just be yourself.
I don't mind at all, as long as YOU WEAR it SMILING.
You don't have to care aboit what other people will say just wear it if you want to.
I will be honest, but I prefer girls who are fit in bikinis, but if the girl is confident with herself that goes a long way!
I believe as long as you like what you wear and that is what you are comfortable in, why does it matter what anyone else thinks? Its just skin, everyone has it. It shouldn't matter if your skinny or plus sized. If you want to wear it, wear it.
At your height and weight I think it's fine for you to wear one. :)
It depends on how much you weigh to be honest so how much do you way if you want the truth I need to know how much you weigh I'm not trying to be a d*** though
165 and 5'6 now. I started at 217.
wear what's appropriate for your body type. if you've got the body for it, wear one, if you don't have the body for it, don't.
I have no problem with big girls in bikinis. A lot of the time they look better than skinny girls in bikinis. I like when women look like women. Thats my 2 cents.
