Finger got stuck in a car door?

Super long story but a very nice couple helped me get the finger out. Thing is, the base of my finger is now a dark purple and there's this lump of clotted blood on the top part of it. Should I call an ambulance? I've been getting told different things by different people- put ice on it, don't get it wet, wrap it etc. I don't know what to do and my thumb is swollen and throbbing

Dont call an ambulance, that would cost a lot more. I would definitely make a dr appointment and get it looked at. My friend did that and her dad was a trained first aid and they ended up having to drain some pus in the thum. So, its not that bad to go to a hospital, but go to a dr for sure.
