Is there a possibility I have septicemia caused by broken tooth? Please help someone?

I pretty much broke a filling from my tooth like 3 weeks ago. Since then my mouth has been aching and the nerve is exposed so it's sore constantly. I don't know for sure if it's abscessed.

Over the past few days however I've had a severe lack of energy and been feeling nauseous, lethargic and my muscles have been aching. My heartbeats been a little faster than usual too.

I'm pretty much terrified that I've developed the beginnings of septicemia and that the infection has traveled into my bloodstream. I'm terrified that something happens to me.

Septicemia is a severe blood poisoning, which probably means you'd be dead or in the hospital on life support.

In order to get septicemia, you typically have to be immunosuppressed very badly. Like if you have AIDS preventing your body from fighting basic infections.

There are several possibilities of what you're experiencing:
1. The broken filling is allowing cold/heat/acid/sugar to transmit electrical impulses to the nerve of your tooth causing pain. This will not go away until the filling is refilled.

2. The tooth pulp is abscessed. The loss of your filling may have also resulted in a tiny piece of tooth coming loose. If the lost filling has resulting in the exposing of the nerve (essentially, you can see into your tooth and into the nerve cavity), that would be bad news. You would require a root canal to destroy the nerve and fill the gap.

Worst case scenario is if the tooth is also infected/abscessed. The tooth generally gets very little blood supply, so if its infected, it's very hard for antibiotics and the immune system to reach this area. This could mean the loss of the tooth if the infection does not clear.

Why have you not gone to the dentist yet?

It is unlikely. It is not impossible but it is unlikely. You should attempt to get scene as soon as possible if this is your fear though an infection of the mouth can cause this, a more general infection that isn't as life threatening, and all of the symptoms can also be aligned to many other general infections that may have nothing to do with your tooth.

Yes, sweetie, you certainly CAN get septicemia, for it sounds as though you now have an infection in your tooth. This will cause you the symptoms that you have mentioned, and will only get worse if you don't see your dentist pronto. He will be able to prescribe an antibiotic for this, and when your infection is gone, he will then be able to take care of your filling.
Don't be terrified, just call and make the appointment as soon as possible. You will be fine once you have the needed medication.

If it was abscessed you'd know it, you'd have constant throbbing as well as swelling in your face or jaw, it sounds like you need to get in to see the Dentist IMMEDIATELY.

Then go to the dentist now they have an obligation to treat you now and then you two talk payment later

If it gets very bad and your eyes change color go to the emergency room but go to the dentist first you really need to regardless
