How have your health-care costs changed since ObamaCare? Give details.

If, for example, you’re on your parents’ insurance, answer for that.

The costs have increased for me.

The costs have stayed the same for me.

I didn’t have health-care before ObamaCare.

I still don’t have health-care.

My costs have gone up. I pay premiums through my employment with the employer paying mor of the cost as part of my benefit package. Also, the deductible I pay and the maximum out-of-pocket costs have gone up. The employer has made a point of telling everyone it is due to Obamacare. They have been very right wing in everything, so this "announcement" was expected. However, some her have seen some internal figures, and actually the company made changes to the plan so their costs were less. What we saw as an increase was the employer shifting the burden to the worker, then blaming Obamacare. I pretty much expect that is happening at a lot of places.

On the other hand I have seen my share of pharmaceuticals drop a bit and I have reason to believe it was required by Obamacare. And many reports have surfaced in the news of individuals getting the same care for less under Obamacare. One guy found his private insurance too high to afford and signed up for the healthcare exchange. He ended up with the same coverage as before, at a much lesser price, and the insurer was the same one that had been overcharging him before.

I was paying about $650 a month for my insurance until Obamacare took over. After that, my insurance company did away with the package I had. In order to get the closest thing to the package I had (which still had a little less coverage than my original package) the cost went up to a little over $900 a month. Great piece of legislation if you are intending to destroy the middle class. This is not free health care, it requires everyone to purchase healthcare or be fined by the IRS. This will cause the health insurance industry to collapse due to outrageous increases in the cost of buying health insurance. Then the only thing left? A socialist healthcare system that will cause huge shortages and increased prices (even more). I believe this was the whole idea of Obamacare.

I manage HR for a medium size company and because of Obamacare both premiums, out of pocket, co-insurance have gone up at ouyr company. Worst thing that has happened to the working class in the US ever. Best thing that happened to people that don't work since thier plan is paid for by the working class people.

As of yet my costs have not changed.

I get my health insurance through my employer, I'm also unionized so my union might've got an exception, which would be really nice.

I do remember hearing Delta Airlines say their health insurance costs are going to rise by about $100,000,000 for next year and they were considering dropping the benefit for their employees because of it, Delta is non-union.

Next couple years are going to be REALLY interesting...

@Prof_Don - Although lots of Republican politicians demonize Obamacare, people in general realize that it is helping many Americans, and that the GOP is just spouting untruths to try to use it to win elections. In fact, a recent poll sees even Republican voters seeing the truth www.....com/.../republicans-obamacare-approval-gallup-poll even though the percentage of Americans that find at least something negative about it has stayed recently at 54%.

My employer now requires me to jump through a bunch of hoops or get charged more. I am think it might be cheaper if I get of two part time jobs so I don't have to buy overpriced insurance anymore. Let someone else pay for my insurance, instead of me paying more to cover someone else.

I have medical benefits through payroll deductions through my job and have noticed that I am paying more through my deductions and that certain procedures are a little more costly out of pocket-wise.

I pay less, a lot less really. I have a few prexisting conditions, so they used to really overcharge me. I pay almost 100$ less now
