Animals in the zoos used to be captured from the wild. These days most animals in the zoos were born in captivity and often they are sent to other zoos when there is little room where they are. The zoo that is close to me is known for its facility that gives most animals much room to roam and features that they enjoy such as pools and things to stimulate their curiosity. It also has extremely great veterinary services for the health of the animals and to help us understand what animals need.
As humanity takes over more of the earth and destroys much of the natural habitat, many zoos are a safe haven for the animals there. Probably the best zoo I have been a member of was the San Diego Zoo and Wildlife Safari. The zoo is in the city and does a good job of providing a good experience for the animals there while allowing people the opportunity to see them, while the Wildlife Safari is part of the same organization but had a much larger facility divided in a way to keep the species safe from each other and provide tours through those areas in busses for the safety of animals and humans. The Safari Park is located outside the city in an area that is away from the noise and crowds of the cities. Unfortunately, it has been many years since I lived near there.
It’s been probably about six years. I used to go every year. We have a very good zoo near my hometown in Michigan. It’s kind of small but the habitats are really nice and it’s always affordable.
I wanted to check out the San Diego zoo when i got to Cali, but then covid smurfed that all up. I haven’t been down that way since things got back to “normal”.
I don't like zoos for a number of reasons.
Wildlife sanctuaries on the other hand protect animals and give them large spaces to roam. They will give you tours through them at safe distances which allow the animals their comfort and viewers their sights. I would love to visit all of them. Help out as much as possible too.
I think some time between 10 to 8 years ago I went to African Lion safari with my cousin and my extended family. It's a wild game safari experience for driving vehicles inside an outdoor zoo with windows and doors closed in the car.

2 months ago. I love the birds here. They're so friendly. Although I worry they might crap on me.

Oh wait it was actually 4 months ago. Time flies.
those birds look so pretty ☺️
Yeah but one of them scratched my phone so it basically gave me a souvenir.
A couple months ago I brought my niece because our zoo has the cutest baby elephant.
aww that’s so cute ❤️🥺☺️ i was hoping to see pandas or elephants yesterday since they’re cute but i didn’t
Probably two years ago with my brother, wife and his two daughters and son. My nieces love the zoo for the animals and food. Only went once since it's always packed the San Antonio Zoo and humid outside now. I loved the zoo when I was little cause it was cheaper for season passes though it's definitely bigger then it was back in the 90's.
A couple of years ago at the Toronto Zoo. I'll likely go this fall when all the kiddies go back to school and the line-ups are not as long.
I was at the Zoo less than a year ago but before that I hadn't been for quite a while. It's good that you had fun :)
I remember liking it as a blissfully ignorant kid. Now I just see them as animal captivity zones. Zoos disgust me and should not be in existence. Imagine you're taken from your home and put in a cage for others entertainment.
Last one was Chester zoo but it has to be at least ten years ago
The last time I logged in here. 🤣😂
I think you'd have been in diapers last time I went to a zoo
lol that’s funny 😂☺️
I like the zoos and have been to many. Last time I was there was February. I considered going to a zoo in another city just yesterday but we did other things.
I was there in August last year, and it was incredible!💚🤓
I was in interestingly amazing Bearizona (in Williams, Arizona) last April.
I went to the Bronx Zoo in 2008. It was pretty amazing.
Its been over a year but I plan on going back soon.
Been a while, but I want to go sometime. It's probably been years.
