Creatives, is it safe to assume you work isn’t good if your friends don’t comment on it?

I’m mostly a visual artist but I dabble in all sorts of arts. I have a background in music too because I used to play an instrument but I sort of abandoned it. But I still really love music and now I make songs for fun using BandLab. I shared them occasionally to my close friends on instagram but no one really comments on them. Except for one other time 2 people said liked my song of 30. Obviously I want to get better at my craft but it makes me think my songs aren’t good

It could mean a lot of things. Jealousy, not really liking you, not wanting to fluff your ego, selfishness, disliking the style of your work, disliking the work itself, and some more. It really depends on the type of person you and them are. Strangers actually make the best judges of your art. They aren't affected by any relationship.

The odds of anyone your friends being your target audience is always slim. Generally a person who tries to appraise a friends art is going to be a little dumbstruck unless they have some idea what they are talking about. Like if you had a friend with a bottle cap collection and they showed it to you. It would probably just look like organized garbage unless you have some idea how to appreciate bottle cap collections.
