Do you think there is correlation between music taste and personality?

Yes, and no. Music has a way of altering perception in its own artistic way. it’s wonderful to listen to beautiful even, but music comes from emotion therefore it inspires emotion. Phonetically music is the closest thing beyond word itself that we can use to define emotion in a very real spectrum of understanding. Other arts do similar things such as painting or drawing, but nothing comes so direct as music.
Music can inspire courage, rage, sadness, joy, or any number of emotions in between or beyond those including love & Hatred.
It’s not that music created the feeling. The feeling existed but music heightened the emotional reality of the event that created the feeling that came into existence at the time in which it did.
Now that said Music also much like motion has phases & people have phases that we often go through. These things are, and or do correlate; because they come from living things, and all living things go through phases of life. We are not the same from day-to-day nor do we wake up the same or feel the same or act the same as we did the day before. We are always changing. We are always adjusting, growing, and shifting frame of mind on the basis of what we learn any given day. At no point do we remain the same even on an anatomical, or atomic level for that matter. Always adapting to new environments, people, places, things.
Just as that is Music is always adapting, growing, changing, developing just as we do. The ever shifting spectrum of the thing that we call art which is a representation of the thing we call life. Music is art is life.
So yes, music can define a phase of someone’s life, but it can never defined the whole of somebody’s life. For just as all moments past, so does music from one phase to the next, from one beat or one tick of the clock to the other. It’s as fundamental As a heartbeat, one will never be another, one beat will never be the same beat as it once was, every beat has its own significance as dose every phase in our life, as every song we listen to along the journey of it. The music heightening the experience of the journey we call life.
I hope this can answer your question. It was a good question. Thank you for having asked it.
There certainly are correlations to see between culture and music tastes, since tribes can use music as a social attribute. Especially when music tastes are narrow, this kind of mono-tasking taste may reveal social class and a whole tribe structure in opposition to another tribe, upper class tastes would oppose lower class tastes. In a stereotypical manner, it will be a clash of classical music vs pop music for instance.
But personality? Personality is rather undescribable when getting deeper. But personality is correlated to culture, in a way, so it's probably too complicated to define who does what, in the jungle of factors and attributes lol
I’ve never met a metalhead that wasn’t a total sweetheart
haha well I met a few who couldn't be called sweet in any way but yeah, there is this funny paradox between what is perceived, from outside this community, and what can be found inside

HELL YES!!! It's like a double feedback loop The music forms a personality and the personality forms a musical taste. It's really sad when that person isn't open to new artists and the inevitable progress that musicians provide.
I actually consider myself really lucky that when I was teaching in high school the kids would turn me on to up-and-coming artists and I got to say, teenagers know where it's at!! Now that I've got teenagers of my own and college nieces and nephews I still get to know who's hot and who's not.
If you're still listening to the same songs and artists you listen to in high school, you're doing it all wrong!!
Well birds of a feather do stick together and music does tend to build “communities” so it makes sense that fans of the same music are similar people.
That being said: many people like multiple kinds of music so it becomes harder to use music as a personality detector.
I would say music is a good indicator of open mindedness.
It takes willingness to try new things for someone to diversify their playlist
not so directly, no...
I would definitely not like my persona to be defined by the MANY different styles of music I enjoy listening to... lol
I believe it does, but what does that say for those who do listen to music? Do they have no personality?
I have someone in my close surroundings with absolutely no interest or reaction to music. It is indeed a strange personality, feels autistic even, but then it's just one case
a little bit, but more because of the subculture the music genre is connected to and its values.
There is to a degree but it’s not the defining factor. I mainly listen to industrial & metal but I also enjoy many other types of music. I’m also a musician so that also affects my opinion on this.
Can be. People who like more complex music tend to be deeper.
... I could follow this lead, my experience could agree, but there is an obstacle: When music tastes are the forced byproduct of culture then I can see people listening to complex music without being deeper. As they just follow a social conduct
This could go either way honestly re-state//background_color_rgba (0, 0, 0, 0), font_color_rgb (77, 77, 77), justifyLeft
Yes... but it also depends of mood of the same person
Maybe it they listen to same music
I haven't given that much thought tbh
For certain
Yes, it's quite possible.
