Yes. I gave seen some very poor zoos in various locations, but the zoo in our location is one of the finest I know of. They have poured a lot of money into it giving the animals extremely enjoyable accommodations They have modern and extensive medical facilities for the animals. In addition to the paid staff, they have a huge supply of trained volunteers doing everything from shoveling elephant poop to spending hours monitoring the animals to keep a daily log of their activities, which provides notice if something seems wrong with them. In addition to a huge pool that the elephants love swimming in, their indoor facilities include food hidden in things they have to reach for, giving them the experience of foraging for food. Most of the flying creatures have nets very high up to keep them contained while giving them the freedom of large flying space. An excellent experience for both the animals and the visitors.

Yes. The animals are ambassadors for their species and children will learn to care about them from such visits which will help ensure that conservation effeprts in the future are supported by voters and the public.

Many of the animals at the zoo are actually rescues today and they cannot be released back into the wild for various reasons such as a broken wing for a bird or an animal that was domesticated illegally and now cannot fend for itself in the wild. Many zoos are very involved in rescues and don’t get the attention they deserve like Sea World who saves a lot of Sea Turtles, Manatees, and dolphins.

I do enjoy going to the zoo occasionally! It offers a great opportunity to observe and learn about various animals up close. The experience can be quite inspiring and a nice change from my usual art galleries and movie outings. It's fascinating to see all the different species and their habitats. 😊🦁

I used to when I was young, now I can't shake the feeling most of the animals aren't able to life natural lives so the thought of them possibly not being happy disturbs the experience.
