Does anybody ever have to wear warmer clothes because of air conditioning in the summer. ?

Question

I attending an event tonight that required "Business Casual Dress." I am very cold natured and I knew that would keep the place where we were going very cold with air conditioning. If this was just an everyday event, I would do what I normally do. I would go in there with a denim jacket or something in layers. I do this in movie theaters. The problem is that the even was "Business Casual Dress." I didn't think that I had anything Business Casual that was warmer, but then I located a long skirt in black and gray that I hadn't even worn. I got that that thing, took the tag off, put it on, along with some leggings to keep my legs warm. I located my black dressy sandals, put them on along with a cute long sleeve top that was thick. I was staying warm. My friend that went with me came over and she had done the same thing. She had dressed in winter clothes since she is also cold natured and knows how cold they keep this place. So we began to wonder how many people that are cold natured have to dress to stay warm during summer if they know that I place will be cold. I know that some will carry blankets to theaters. Anyhow, she took a pic. of me and I her in winter clothes (LOL) right before we left and off we went. Nobody north of the equator would understand why we dress so warmly in summer. I posted the pic. of me in winter clothes (just the bottom portion to retain confidentiality). Does anybody else do this?

Malls are not the thing they used to be, but back when they were where much of what you bought came from, and they were full and busy, it was VERY common for women especially to wear sweaters, long pants, and layers if they worked at the mall even when it was over 100F (37C) outside. That's because they would be INSIDE for a 5-8 hour shift with 68F air conditioning, and a 110 pound girl would be an ice cube if she was wearing clothes appropriate for the outside temperature.

Back in the day, when my girlfriend worked at the mall and I would go in to visit, she delighted in putting her icy hands under my shirt to steal my body heat. She was never warm enough during the summer because the AC was so cold.

We don't have Air con in our country so no. But even so then no. When I went to America Air con was great never too cold, and one couldn't even tell it is warm outside perfection. Though I do basically wear hoodies 24/7... the only time I didn't cause yeah America was warm.

When I was vacationing in China as a teenager and early adult, I spent the night at my female cousin's house with her parents living there as well and the air conditioner was so strong I developed a cold from the intense coldness even though we were in the middle of summer.

When I returned to Canada my parents told me they don't usually turn on the air conditioner that much since it costs more in energy bills but they did it specifically for me cause they knew I was from Canada and they thought I night not be used to hot summer days in other countries.

When going out during summer, I'll always carry a pair of long pants/leggings/stocking, a cardigan and headbands for my ears. I don't have issues with air conditioning, however hot summer days in Denmark can quickly turn into chilly evenings, especially on the coast.

Your body gets used to temperatures so definitely staying a lot in the airco during summertimes you probably need some warmer clothes when it cools down at night.
Personally I wear as little clothes as possible during summer but also in the winter. It makes me much less dependent on warm clothes

Yes, my wife keeps this place like an icebox.

I told her I moved here (Missouri) to get away from real winter (upstate NY). Instead, she has the air conditioning on all the time and I am PAYING electric to recreate winter here in MO.

Yea my office air conditioner at work gets cold fast and even if I turn it off it’s stays cold for awhile , so I take a hoodie to work just in case it’s cold as shit , and usually it is so I wear the hoodie

This is all too familiar to me. My husband and I went to a work related even (his work) recently and he was wearing slacks, a blazer and and a tie and sweating like a dog in the summer heat. I was shivering in my long skirt, blouse and sweater looking for a blanket along with all the other ladies. NO ONE was comfortable, but at least I had the option of wrapping in a minky couture. He couldn't take anything off until we left.

Yes. Whenever my wife and I go out to dinner, she almost always brings along her sweater or jacket because she gets cold in the air-conditioned restaurant. It's often very hot outside and cold inside.
