Why are all HOA neighborhoods the Karen land?

For reals I am house shopping sold my house over because of the Karen neighbors.

One Karen complain about my music, HOA Karen's try to find an excuse to make complains.

My friends who live in a HOA community have the same Karen issue neighbors.

Are all HOA the new Karen land?

Dunno. But the fact that an HOA exists might be your red flag. Never lived in HOA land. Have a broad variety of neighbors, some with young kids, some retired, some with high school college kids, some single people.

Got a collection of pleasant neighbors. We're a pretty quiet bunch tho. 40s to 70s. Not much loud music going on. If your music is so loud your neighbors in separate houses are hearing it, it's too loud. That's not HOA, that's courtesy.

There's not many complainers in my hood. I clean out the drains of the cypress cones at the end of the block and sweep my sidewalks and mow my neighbor's lawn when I mow mine.

Very little Karenation in my block and I've been here 29 years. Planted that cypress tree that's about 80 feet tall in my front yard, fig and satusuma in the back. Give away figs and can them. Keep a nice garden... New neighbors just moved in with crazy, yappy Havanesa dogs. They're sweet and funny, though.

My guess is people who choose HOA land WANT a lot of rules and restrictions and don't have faith that their neighbors are kind, rational people who want to get along with them.

I don't want to live anyplace where someone will be telling me what color to paint my door and when and how I have to water my lawn. Hope you've found a more relaxed place to live where knowing your neighbors is a pleasure! Good luck.

Yeah my ex is in real estate and said don't buy HOA homes. I think that is one reason why he said don't buy HOA homes. They are very strict and the neighbors are really strict as well.

@beefcakebradybatson this happened to me once -- my idiot neighbor put a musical Christmas on her front lawn facing my bedroom. It played the most insipid versions of Christmas music on repeat. I asked her to turn it off and she refused. I unplugged it as I was walking away. She called the police. I explained it to them and they made her turn it off. You sound like an entitled MAGA-idiot.
