I wouldn't say it's absolutely impossible. But rational choice would be help determining the basics, especially if someone is really young. WIth the few standards that are around, you always need instruction.
I think you could learn to drive the vehicle, but mastering the details of traffic entrances, turn signals, what all the laws are, defensive driving. No. New drivers need help in this area.
Somewhat yes. I think a few lessons with another person would be ideal but not a requirement. Some people do learn on their own but many learn through someone else guiding them.
Yes, that doesn't mean they'll drive well though. I remember when I first started driving I wanted to use one foot on the brake and one on the gas. But my father who was teaching me at the time said. Said if I tried to do it my way if I ever panicked I'd end up hitting both pedals at the same time. I think he was trying to tech me focus.
Absolutely! I pretty much did. I used to drive my band home from gigs in Youngstown (90:00 away) and Erie (3 hours away) and I've never had a license. Everyone tells me I'm a very good driver.

Sure they can so long as they are only going to be driving in a bush paddock.
I did. I started driving an old jeep around private property/rural areas when I was 8
Absolutely, especially if it’s automatic
Yes, many people learn that way.
It's not that hard. Just get in, start slowly.
