@RingOfFire I don't' think most even consider getting 'too old' until they reach that point in time. Then when they get there, it is too late to do anything about it. That kind of thinking needs to start when you are 30, and stay as fit as you can from then on, and hopefully you will not get 'too old' to do the things you want or need to do.
I agree that fitness is a major component and starting young is key. I have been athletic my entire life and still workout 5 or 6 days a week. Have not been to a doctor in over 20 years and am in better shape than most guys in their 20s with no known significant medical issues. It's just part of my lifestyle. But I have friends who were also highly fit but passed at younger ages. I think the genetic component is possibly the most important thing, maybe even more than fitness. And then there is plain old luck which is also a factor.
@RingOfFire Probably those 3 factors you describe are the KEY.
No. I have good genes, plus I workout and never do any drugs, drink alcohol, or smoke at all. One of my grandfather's was in his mid 60s when he did a bike ride back and forth across the USA too. Staying in good physical condition and not abusing substances seems like the best way to last longer and be able to still enjoy life.
I also do or avoid doing certain things to reduce stress in my life because too much stress does harm people's health.
I don’t worry… I go by what I can do… not what I can’t.
i know many who would say, I’ll travel when I retire… I disagreed… I travel while young and active and enjoy life.
I see a lot of retirees with lots of health issues… their retirement is to visit doctors and take pills. I refuse to live that life. I take care of myself at a young age and enjoy life at a young age responsibly.
Too old to do jumping jacks anymore.😂
🤣🤣🤣
No biggy!

Sometimes. There are limitations on me already from old injuries and how arthritis has hit me with the age factor. I'm due for right knee replacement on the 13th of May. Then they'll want to replace the other one after that.
Hope everything goes well. They have these procedures down to a science today, so should be fine.
This probably won't be available for some time, but may be worth asking the doctor about...

Yes honestly. While men can have kids at any point in their lives, I want a family at a younger age, so I can watch my children and hopefully grandkids grow up. If I start a family at 40+, that isn't likely.
Yes, I am trying hard to be active as long as possible. I know a stroke or cancer diagnosis could change things in a hurry.
The ONLY thing slowing me down, right now is the arthritis in my hips and a few dozen extra pounds I need to shed.
As long as I have my kids around I'll be good. Well that and if I can keep my pecker working...
No, I plan to decommission myself once things get bad
I once thought that way too... but when you actually get there, it's a whole different story.
My health is already failing and the state of society it's gone from 50 to 30
dating pool dries up as everyone is married
Don't worry, by the time you are 70, half the guys are gone and you will have a buzzing hive of 60 and 70 something women all over you 24/7/365! Trust me, you'll envy the guys who are gone!
I'm already too old for this crappy life.
You're just warming up. Where it goes from here is mostly about the choices you make. You're the only one who can change the course.
I would change the course if I had any resources or abilities.
You have the ability. That's what you need to get the resources.
If I had the ability, I would already have the resources.
Ability is in the mind. You have a mind, so you have the ability. You just have to put it to work.
I have the mind, but I live in corrupted country, it's not easy to achieve a success in here, especially if you don't have any political connections.
I don't mean any disrespect with this comment but that's just wrong. You are using the victim excuse to blame others for your own inability to try to better yourself. You are not a victim. I went from homeless to wealthy and I have no political connections. And I earned every penny of what I have myself. Anyone can do this... UNLESS they keep playing the victim. That is the biggest impediment to a better life.
You went from homeless to wealthy? Let me guess, you won a lottery jackpot?
Nope. Got jobs like landscaping, working in construction equipment rental, bouncer, pumping gas and doing mechanical work, teaching martial arts, teaching tennis and lots of others while I got on my feet. Then worked my way into college and a very successful career. When I started that process I was broke and living in an old car that didn't run trying not to freeze to death at night. So I never accept "I can't do it because the system is stacked against me." as an excuse. I know because I lived it.
You don't live in the Balkans, so you don't know what's it like.
You live in the Balkans?
Yes, unfortunately.
Oh sorry... my condolences.
I just assumed you were in the USA.
There are definitely some parts of the Balkans where I would not want to live.
Thanks for the understanding.
Maybe in 10 years.
It’s why I’ve done most of them when I was young
Nope.
