Nope but I like to. I’m at a point right now in my life where I have a steady job and not a lot of financial obligations. The only real bill that I HAVE to pay is my college tuition, but I have multiple scholarships, so it isn’t that much. This is the first time in my life where I’ve been financially able to buy gifts for my friends and family, and I am splurging. I love them. My parents have done so much for me, and my friends have supported me through all my bullshit. I don’t feel obligated to buy them gifts, I just really want to. Most of them have told me not to get them anything, but they’re getting something anyway.
No, if I genuinely don't feel like getting someone a gift, I won't. But I do feel a tiny bit of pressure (I guess?) to get my boyfriend's parents something, since we're going to their place for lunch on the 25th. But I think I'm just gonna make them some brownies and bring some flowers, more as a thanks for having me over.
I've recently started to think about this and came to the conclusion that, yes, I feel obligated and even forced to buy people gifts. I think it's because I got gifts when I was young and now I have this mentality that you would get very disappointed without a present regardless of age.
Nope. I dont care about the holiday. They can have my time. Not my hard earned money.

I only buy people things whenever something reminds me of them or whenever I see something they might like -if I can afford it.
Christmas or not, I never feel obligated to buy anyone, anything. If I don't feel like buying them anything, then I won't buy them anything even if it is their birthday or Christmas or whatever.
Nah, it's cute ❤️ and I want to do it because I want to show them they are special for me and I love giving gifts ❤️😍
Only for close friends and family. Otherwise? Nope. Why spend money on people if I don't have to? Haha.
Comes from the Heart from the Start. xx
Only for certain people I like
I voted only when it comes to certain people. And if I were in SoCal I'd buy you a bunch of chapsticks for Christmas. But since I'm not here's your card! 🎄🌲🤣
It's okay! Lol 🤣😂
I feel obligated but in a pleasurable way. I WANT to make a present for them, it seems unfair if I won't make a present for my boss or my sister. Some people even though? Even if I know I should find them one, they are left out, because I'm kinda... Don't want to.
I don't play these political attention games. If anyone wants to buy me a present or do anything else for me - that's great and I'll be grateful, but that doesn't mean I owe them anything, especially nothing that costs money. And anyone who hives just in order to get back can keep their fucking presents.
My family has a thing where every family member has to buy 1 gift for a random other family member. And the combinations of who has to buy shit for whom changes every year.
This year I got my 15 year old female cousin and I have absolutely no fuccin clue what to buy for her but I got until 24th lol ;P
Like last year I brought a bath robe for my grand dad and the year before that I bought a calender and some candles for my sister. It's weird and dumm lol
this will be my first time buying something for family im spending 50 bucks on my nephew , i hope he appreciates it se3eing how i have never this before and might not do it again if it does not go how i think it should.
Yeah, I feel obligated to buy you presents for Christmas 😔
I buy gifts for two or three people, my son is one of them, my second cousin another. Budget's too tight for much else. I can bake and make inexpensive gifts for neighbors etc...
I've got to say that old secret santa stuff is the worst aspect of the holiday. How can you have a clue of what to give someone you don't know? Or possibly even WORSE, someone you don't LIKE!!! I gave gifts to three people and they were the same people who gave gifts to me. I didn't expect anything, but oddly enough, I received. And I liked all the gifts I got! They were small things, but welcome. If you're forced to give gifts, that's just not what the holiday is about.
Usually I love to spoil people but this year the financial situation sucks in the country and it is not time for extra expenses.
So I don't know what to do, I feel like I should but I can't afford it🤷🏿♀️
Only my daughter I promised her air conditioned shoes
When I was younger, I bought gifts for my parents (it hard to shop for my dad) When my nephew was a baby, I went overboard in buying gifts, I went shopping at Toys R Us. I went overboard, cuz his birthday is December 16.
No! Am not obligated, i don't call my family as people. It's a pleasure to me to get gifts for my family, it brings joy to all of us.
I enjoy buying for kids. Little things make them happy.
I always make goody bags for my students.
Nothing is obligation for me but some people i love to get them gifts i cannot keep my slef from not doing it😍
Not exactly, to the family, yes. To others are more like an option (unless the person is really close to you and/or to the family). What matters most is the thought, not the present itself.
Nope , i can't afford but if i had a Girlfriend i would buy her gift (s)
maybe a couple could make agreement to spend no more than $40.00
on each other?
I feel no obligation but I absolutely will get it for my immediate family. Friends is nice sometimes as well when you talk about a limit to how much you spend.
I used to and I can't stand that aboutthe holiday...
So II did away with gift giving in general.
I'd say yes and no, but only because I want to, it makes me happy to
Nope. Gifts are given willingly, they aren't a tax. If I want to I will. If I don't I won't.
No, unless they buy me something I spend my money on myself.
I'm a proud Satanist and we don't celebrate Christmas, we celebrate bloodmess. It's like Christmas but with blood.
I buy for those who matter so at present (haha) that covers my parents, my brother, my 2 closest friends and myself... still not cheap at about £250
Nope. I've asked for probably 17 years now for close ones not to buy me anything. My mom, sister, and girlfriends across that time always have. My dad and friends are like alright.
Nope, I got one Christmas gift, just because I found something small that my dad would like (a hip flask). Never really got anyone a Christmas gift besides that!
Nope. I only buy for two people, my son and my girlfriend.
I don't actually, and I ask people to do the same (except for some food).
Only if they buy me something, so I try and convince people not to buy me stuff
I don't buy peope presents unless I have a close bond with them and ik what they want
I have 2 nieces so will get them something. Probably just get my nephews a giftcard of $20.
No. I give gifts to whom I want. If I felt obligated I would not do it.
No. It's not a responsibility. It's wanting to do it.
Not Christian. I had bought for my ex before though.
Family and friends people I’m close with coworkers I bring in food.
I would do it because I like giving like if I had friends I would do it like when I’m at work I pass by AirPods everyday and think how cool it would be to give these to a girl who’s a friend at Christmas
Just family I’m a custodian I don’t make a lot of money.
I bought you a Christmas gift
Between the US-Mexico border
It's big and tall

Certain people, perhaps.
Obligation is the antithesis of gifting.
Nope, so I feel good when I do
No, but I like to do it.
I do not. That's why it's called a gift.
With certain people maybe family and close friends
No I want to do it. Happy holidays everyone 🎄🎁✨
Yes starting next year I’m not buying anything
I do it out of my heart
Absolutely no... Give a gift that from heart.
I don't feel obligated
