Why nobody isn't supporting my cause?

So I have an online store. I sell shirts, hoodies, sweaters. People can personalize it or I can design something for them. So I decided to sell my product for the holidays and have a sale and raise money for St. Jude charity. I thought people would be happy I'm doing something for a cause but it's just radio silence from everyone. I just want to help people for the holidays with my business.

I just think that it’s hard for people to support others this time of year. Covid is still taking its toll, a lot of people are still jobless, or trying to recover financially. It’s not easy to say “hey support my cause”, when those people are trying to support their households and livelihoods. Another aspect to factor in is if your product is something these people want to buy, because pitching to the right audience is important. Naturally you’d expect your family and close friends to support, but outside of that, people may not be interested in personalized items right now. Especially if they don’t agree with the pricing for something they didn’t really want in the first place and it’s just to support a charity.

Understandable with covid but it's for anybody that's interested to buy or help out.

I do get that, I’m just saying that these things hinder certain people who are interested in buying or helping out, but just can’t. If they have the means but just don’t want to then that’s when I’d factor in the other elements, like them just not being interested in what you’re selling, regardless of the reason behind it..

Your product has to be something that people desire. They’re tons and tons of companies that raise money for charity at this time of the year. You have to stand out and be different than the rest.

How much do your shirts and stuff cost?

$18 but the price varies for the larger sizes

Bad shipping prices.
Bad product prices.

People think it is more about giving you money than a charity so the product needs to be so good that they'd buy it even if there was no charity involved.

I suppose, my prices are reasonable. My marketing could be better.

Maybe you're marketing to the wrong people, how are you marketing now? Other than that personalised creations seem like a fun idea but are harder to market than something that establishes your brand.

I've mainly been sharing on social media. Do you suggest any specific groups? My fiance us a firefighter and he wanted me to make shirts for the fire department.

Social media can be a wide net where you can properly showcase your creations, especially with proper hashtags and whatnot so people can reach you more easily.

What kinds of illustrations/art do you do? It could also be worthwhile to showcase your own creations so people know your capabilities when they want you to make something for them.

As for the fire department, sounds like something cool to do even though I don't know how much traction that would bring.

I do holiday, meme, anime or personal designs for businesses. Yes I just figured the fire department because it's a start.

Oh that sounds pretty cool, definitely not without competition but pretty cool. The firedepartment could be a decent start then if you want to market.

Maybe it's not but some of my family bought shirts from random people and not me even though they said they would.

you shouldn't rely on family thats not way to run a business u need to get new customers else you dont have a business full stop

There's partially your answer. You don't have established clientele and you're advertising in the most lazy way possible. I wouldn't trust your company.

You have to build your business slowly. This isn't something overnight. You need to start with regular offerings, first.
