One year ago I started crushing on a guy in my class. After a few weeks later he started showing signs of liking me and all my friends were sure he liked me. He paid a lot of attention to me, I constantly caught him looking at me, and he had complimented me twice. After Christmas break he seemed a little distant but was still showing signs. We because friends and we talked pretty consistently. Then near the end of the school year he announced to everyone that he was dating another girl, though I thought their relationship was always a bit distant and perhaps heavily encouraged by the parents. 5 months after that happened he broke up with her and one of his friends told his sister who is my friend that he liked someone else. He still showed signs this current year but actually left my school, though I still see him every few weeks and he has asked me to dance with him at country dancing practices. Do you think he's interested?

My friends think that he likes me. Though it's a bit harder to tell now that he's not at my school anymore. However, I recently joined a group chat he was in and he seems to be talking way more than he used to according to the others.

He also is from a good and respected family who has good values and high standards so I don't think he would cheat or dump me a few months in.
Superb Opinion
5 months is the average dating span of high school guys, so even if he does like you, ask yourself if you're willing to possibly only be with him for 5 months. And what if he develops another relationship at his new school that you wouldn't be able to know about while he's dating you?

Look. I know it’s scary. But you just need to ask him. You can ask him on a date. Or you can go the route of. “Am I the person you like”? That is how you will know if he’s into you.
He has been thinking about you but hard to tell with just that little bit of information.
