For me I always felt lonely during the holidays. I rarely talk to anyone about it irl but some of my friends know about it. Is it common to feel like this? Especially when I never really dated anyone or had a girlfriend?

Yes, it is common to feel that way if you are not in a relationship. Even more so if you are far from family. I once had a can of soup by myself for Thanksgiving when I was around your age. It can also be lonely feeling if you’re in a dysfunctional relationship. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. As for how to find a girlfriend, you already know what kind of advice people give for that.

put it this way, you can save way more money. you don't have to be around people you don't want to be around (others family), don't have to be fake cheery, those types of things.

also, you can still be lonely in a relationship. holidays aren't everything.
