If I had one, I would. Because I inherited my house and it is property tax assessment locked at 1976 level, I have a lot more disposable income than most people who earn what I do.

I'd rather we just got eachother something small with what we're able to manage. In a committed relationship though she'd have at least some access to funds if there was s good reason.

If I had someone. I would make my best effort to get her something. But I would want someone who both appreciates it without also being entitled.
