We used to have turkey every October Thanksgiving and have not had it for a few years because my dad is scared to have big social gatherings with others due to the pandemic and we used to buy turkey cause our friends who came over spent generously on buying us steaks when we hung out with them.
I don't know what's going in the US, but where I live people are spending less money on Christmas lights.
We have not sent out Christmas cards for a few years now. We spent lots on gifts for our kids but we have all the decorations we need as well as a fake tree. We spend as much on food as we usually do maybe more because of inflation. We have to eat.

Who buy furniture at Christmas? That is best done when weather is nice so during the summer half.

The Christmas tree we got this year is so much smaller and still more money than last year so everybody’s spending less on a bit of everything

Christmas cards. I remember when I was a child you'd get a 100 Christmas cards.
