Is anyone spending the New Year single and with no friends?

I'm single and always had trouble making friends. I have very few friends and we rarely see each other nowadays. Plus they have their own lives too.

I feel alone. Once again, I'm spending the New Years with just my family but no boyfriend nor friends.

I used to have four friends but one of them dated a girl that was really abusive towards him. He got into drugs and alcohol to cope. What ended up happening is he taught this behavior to my other three friends and they were so gone that I couldn’t relate to them anymore. We all grew up together but they weren’t my friends anymore. They turned into potheads. They used to be super smart but now it feels like they are slow to be honest without sounding too mean. I had to let them go. I couldn’t relate and I don’t like drugs or alcohol.
My ex girlfriend got into rape fantasies. She would ask me to rape her in role playing. I felt uncomfortable with it. She would ask me to choke her and stuff like that. I wasn’t into it so we broke up. I just have bad luck.

Wow so much toxic people. Good to hear got rid of them. I guess spending time with my family (consisting of just my parents, mom's aunt and maternal grandma) isn't so bad afterall.

I’m very single and only have family friends that occasionally come over. Not the kind of friends you say “hey, want to come hang out?” to, especially with all of them being so busy. (They’re even busy while they do visit most of the time.)

I'm very sorry to hear that. If it helps, there must be more of us out there, lonely with no friends and no relationship either. I think having my family at least makes me feel a bit better, though not much.
