We've never done in either my family or my wife's. There are a few families I know who do it but they are odd ones out.
Most of Thanksgiving is food and family and American football. It used to be remembering the pilgrims and the first winter and the whole beginning of the colonies but that's all become a little taboo and were left with food, family, and football.
And no gifts.
Save those for Christmas!

Iβve never heard of anyone doing that, actually. Maybe it happens, but not in my family. Thanksgiving in Canada is in early October anyways so there is no connection to Christmas or anything like that.
No. Just at Christmas. Thanksgiving is just food.
