My younger brother and our wives always get together with our mother and step-father for Thanksgiving. My mom is 94 so we don't expect her to prepare any food. We have done our gatherings at her house previously but will have dinner at my new home this Thanksgiving. The mean is fairly standard.
Since it is at my home, I intend to start a tradition this year. After dinner, I will ask the rest of the family to help me set up and decorate our new Christmas tree and decorations.
@OlderAndWiser 94-? God Bless..
@exitseven Thanks! My step-father is 95!
@exitseven My family has great longevity if you discount the smokers and drinkers.
@OlderAndWiser My wife;s family is the same way. Everyone is in their 90s and a few made it to 100.
@exitseven isn’t it wonderful 😘
@exitseven Yes, aging gracefully is not always the result!
@OlderAndWiser I am going kicking and screaming all the way to the nursing home.
@exitseven No doubt!
Yes! No politics thats it really
@dougeats
That’s great!
@dougeats
No sex for dessert
Yes I sure do... do show up with gratitude for the love and inclusiveness only family showers you with. Be grateful if you have this close bond with them throughout the year and you can show them your personal gratitude on this dedicated day.
Don't bring up toxic things (drama inducing vomit) that you could bring up any other time of the year.
Be helpful and be hungry. haha
@cherrylove007

Oh yes, we have a very large Thanksgiving gathering. And there seem to be a lot of "don'ts" but they all seem to be specifically directed at me for some odd reason, "Random! Don't do that!"
Anyway, at least I get to sit at the grownup table this year! 🦃
@randomgirl42
About time, you’re 25 years old now
@RandomGirl42 Do you still make a mess?
@exitseven That wasn't my fault! 😳
@RandomGirl42 i remember that the kids table was where all the fun was.
I do, but for most of my working adult life I've worked the holidays and I have made arrangements with family or kids and grandkids to have time set aside. It's the fact of making sure you have a day or time set aside. When you work 12s or out of town or when your Sons are active duty. Any day can be a holiday.
I used to. We had no does and don’ts. They have all passed away now so holidays are just me anymore.
Sorry for your loss
Thanks Jenn.
No, never did. Even growing up in the USA, I never did. By the sounds of things, it seems I didn't miss out on much.
We have a small family. The last 2 thanksgivings we spent it up by my wife and I cooked the whole dinner. This year she is now home, thank God, so we'll be home but I think I'll still be cooking dinner
no oral sex at the table and eat all the cranberries
Thanksgiving and Christmas best holidays ever@
I used to, but sadly I don't have any family left.
I'll either do something with friends, or maybe bartender so others can hangout with their families.
Or just have dinner with my cat.
I have a large family Thanksgiving gathering. Usually over 20 people.
The main DO is "DO have a good time"
The main DON'T is "Don't get your dessert at the same time you fix your dinner plate"
Nope! I don't have a family family to celebrate with.
I’ll end up at my stepfather‘s friends house with his family since I don’t have any family that lives near me anymore and I don’t have a wife or girlfriend to go to their family either
I do. And there’s really no rules. Everybody just gets along.
LOL, you're "celebrating" stealing Native Americans lands.
yes, we have Thanksgiving and all my kids are here. I try to help my wife in the kitchen
Nope, big family holidays I lay low or work from home.
I only have one brother left in town. Yes we get together for Thanksgiving dinner
We don't celebrate it in the UK but it seems like a good idea.
I have nobody now I’m all alone. I’ll be alone on Thanksgiving and Christmas
Just my brother, the rest of my family is gone
No, I don't celebrate Thanksgiving day as such
it is not a tradation in my country thats why i dont
Yes i celebrate and I don’t drink alcohol in front of family
Kinda I've lost my grandma and grandparents, mom just with friends
We don't have that holiday in my country.
