We do the traditional Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes. My grandmother did it for many years. When she passed away my aunt took it over. She died 4 years ago so my wife does it.
Feast of the Seven Fishes is an Italian-American tradition that takes place on Christmas Eve. In Italy, it's a fasting day called La Vigilia, a day for abstinence from meat... until Christmas Day, and then there is a big mid-day meal of pasta with meats.
In America, Italians brought this tradition to Little Italy in New York, sometime in the late 1800's. Why seven fishes? It may be from the Catholic Seven Sacraments or named from the Seven Hills of Rome. No one is quite sure.
There are some very traditional fishes that are served here in the U. S... eels, baccala (salt cod), calamari (squid), shrimp, mussels & clams and more.
I do have my very own, personal... tradition
which is to take off in the middle of the night, for a long long walk... by myself, used to do this with my best friend when we were kids, so yes... we still do that...
I’ve got my ritual,
I have a big family and always met Christmas and New Year with them.
When the whole family dines, moments before the clock strikes 12:00, I stand up, go to the window and instead of looking outside, I look back, I look at them laughing, singing, smiling, eating, enjoying their time and I feel happy, in its purest form of happiness.
I enjoy looking at them from distant for a minute or two and then, I go back, with my glass of wine and sing along with them, play along with them and live that moment with them.
Looking back, I think how lucky I have been to have had these wonderful moments with them…
Thanks for mho 😇
I love Christmas! 🎄 unfortunately no family tradition, but if I did have a family of my own… I think it be cute to have family Christmas pj themes such as onesie, red, green, etc. or we can bake Christmas cookies together for Santa hehe. Decorate stockings together. Then, add little fun decors and gifts in stockings… or go ice skating.. or go see holiday lights. There’s a lot of fun things!

Every year on Christmas Eve night we get to open one present and each time it a new set of pajamas to wear to bed and then wake up to open presents Christmas morning.
I do advents activities with my mother and I've made advents presents for those closest to me.
I play the yulelads and bake goods + make candy and put it in shoes my friends have left out for me. Don't know how easy that tradition is to add to the mix, since that's just the Icelandic version of Santa. But it's unique enough outside of Iceland.
Not really. I can't really say that I have a family. We do have special meals but it's just that.
I complain a lot about all the pointless requirements and expectations.
All I care about is spending time with family and chilling. That’s my turkey day is my preferred day.
Turkey day II would be a better substitute for grump-mas.
My cat gets something nice too - a good BIO meat piece
Not unique, but we have stockings that we put candy in which I've always liked
We go to the casino
I drink by myself and play Russian Roulette.
We have a cold seafood lunch.
