Nothing in the remainder of this year, but in 2024, I will get rid of

1. My single status

2. Perhaps my Ford Explorer in favor of a newer vehicle

3. My wardrome of size 38 pants in favor of size 36.

I had two Chevy Tahoes. They are a nice ride.

@exitseven There's nothing wrong with the Explorer except that it is a 2001 and doesn't get great mileage for a six-cyl.

I took one out for a ride 1n 2019 and really wanted to like it. It was underpowered and just did not handle well.

@exitseven Yes, the Explorer is only a six and it doesn't have a traditionally strong truck engine.

Still it is used by a lot of Police departments as cruisers. Maybe the police package includes the police interceptor engine that came in the Crown Vics.
I ended up with an F-150 with the 5l V-8.

I has two Tahoes. A 1996 and a 2008, The tahoes had the 5 liter V8 and it got close to 20 MPG on the highway and about 14 in the city. My F-150 has about the same.

@exitseven I get 19-20 in town with my Explorer. It runs great, very smooth, has 175,000 miles, cear coat is flaking but no rust, no damage, most of the systems still work 100%. I paid $1,800 for it 3½ years ago, have done rear brakes, replaced battery and fuel pump, and could probably sell it for $1,800 now.

I decided against getting a new Tahoe because they are now 60 grand and my kids are all grown up so the pickup truck made more sense. It is like a race car with a pickup bed.

Yes but I drive vehicles for 12-13 years and put well over 200K miles on them. I like to drive full size SUVs with lots of horsepower.

The remains of my old recliner mechanism. The replacement I scavenged bolts directly to the footrest but there’s no seat frame and I need to make spacers to hold the backrest on. The original seat springs are pretty pathetic so they too are going in favour of some I saved from an old bed frame. Also, I’m getting rid of the trashed finish on top of a solid wood cabinet that was curbed across the street.
