To those who celebrate and decorate for Christmas do you use real or fake trees?

I was hardcore about real trees for the longest time. No fake mess will ever grace my threshold! Buuuutttt then one year, we needed to decorate early, and I couldn't find my usual buddy with a truck to help me haul a real tree, and so I bought a fake one. It has been so much less work to deal with, less pine needles every where on everything, no watering needed, no drying out, no having to haul it to the curb at the end of the season, and just the ability to decorate when I want instead of having to wait on others or get help to bring a tree in, I can just do it by myself and be done. Now I'm like fake trees all the way. Slowly but surely, everyone in my family who was once like me, has gone the route of the fake tree. I'm glad I had a ton of childhood experiences with chopping down real ones and nothing can replace the fresh pine scent, but I just cannot be bothered anymore.

Real all the way! I love going out into the forest to find a self seeded tree that would otherwise be cut down and driven over, for me it's the real spirit of Christmas and it wouldn't be the same without it. Also I'm not sure they would have an artificial tree the size that we usually get. 😂
I would really like to get a real one, but they are about a dollar an INCH by us, and I just can't swing $60-70 for a tree.
We have a nine-foot from about 20-25 years ago that would fit in our large family room (with a higher ceiling). Now, we just use the top section in our living room next to the organ.
In my hosting (tropical) country you don't find ''true'' Christmas trees.
But I want mine to be natural.
So last year I used my mulberry bush.
This year I plan to decorate my nicest Cannabis plant.

We use a fake one and have for many years. Last time we had a real one was when I was very little and the cat went in the tree. Well, because he was in the tree and I wanted him I got the small broom and wacked it. So, pine needles went everywhere! So now you know that I'm the reason why we never got another real tree ever again. Very Early Merry Christmas LOL 🎄😹
Fake. Real ones aren't that popular in Australia
Both in My Life But Fake is Nice Nowadays. xx
In the late 80s it was a real tree, but years afterward now it is a fake tree.
Fake trees, they don't shed needles and they can be used for many years
Real tree every year for the last 34 years , before that it was a fake one
We've got a fake tree. It was prelit, but the lights no longer work so we have to wrap lights around it anyways.
I always feel a bit weird about using a fake tree, since my dad's Greenhouse/Landscaping/Nursery business always sold real trees, garland, wreathes, etc leading up to Christmas. I do miss the smell of a real Frazier Fir tree. Unfortunately with the size of our current house, and the fact that for both my wife and I November is the busiest month of the year at our respective jobs, its just been more convenient to use a fake tree. We also are usually out of town visiting family the entire period between Christmas and New Years, so we'd have to have our tree out on the curb before Christmas Eve even.
I'm transitioning in my job to more of a regular schedule, and we're looking at buying a bigger house, and there's talk of hosting Christmas for my wife's family at our house in coming years - maybe in the future we'll do real trees again. Our son asked us this year (after we had the fake tree up and decorated already) if we could have a real tree - that's definitely a factor we'll consider.
when i was in my home city, we had and have a fake tree. Always realistic as the real thing... putting up decorations... putting up lights... and when i hit an adult, that tradition stopped. :c that was one of those things that made me happy after my dogs died. then we stopped... it was just... Christmas day for a few hours and that was it.
*siiigh* how time flies...
I live alone and as a single man I don't bother with all the decorations, but when I get a family I definitely want to do real trees all the way. Fake trees are sacrilege. Fake trees are like fake boobs, they can sometimes look nice but feel wrong.
I love the smell, the needles everything related to the real tree. In Berlin is a good service to gather "used" trees after Christmas and reuse them as firewood.
Our fake tree growing up looked terrible. My mum would always really try to get a real one but it had to be small because we didn't have much room. They're a pain to clean up after & carry, but I much prefer real ones because so does my mum.
Fake, when we bought It, we already had cats and they would climb up them, it's crazy, the whole thing starts wiggling and the cat falls with the tree but you can always stand it back up

If we have a tree, it's always fake. I don't think there are real trees available where I live.
This year, were using our artificial trees.
They've all been erected and are now fully decorated.
I've always used a fake tree because real ones are too much work because you have to constantly water them and make sure they don't die
We get a fake tree but it tbh looks more like the real tree in that picture
I use artificial ones because they store longer off season, lol.
I will usually use a fake tree for the main display but put up a smaller real tree in my kitchen for the awesome pine tree smell which I then plant after Christmas on a nature preserve.
I have a fake tree. It is just easier to do.
We have cats and a dog so we always have a fake tree. I just bought a new balsam hill flip tree that my wife has been wanting for 3 years.
