Was a bad year for me lost money things just didn't couldn't wouldn't go way I expected, but what do one do, shame it off put it behind me and keep going, if there are such things as indicated then the end of 22 is a point I should have paid more attention to, things just went south rapidly non stop was like a bad dream I couldn't wake from so all I can do is see how 24 will shape up if I believed in coincidence or put much Credence into numbers, then I would say there's irony Herr with it being 2024 and 24 hours in a day, but since I approach most everything logically if just happenstance that is 2024 and 24 hours in a day, and if I was a cynic I would their in 364.5 days of a year again with a 4 maybe to someone this may have significance to me it's just how it turned it, with no meaning, no universe trying to tell me something just meaningless numbers that we use to define our existence where ever we happen to be, who ever said ignorance is bliss knew what they were saying, the more you know the more you try to make it better only to screw it up even mor, the more you worry about what's possible and it's potential, a simple life knowing nothing about anything is my dream!

Thanks, sometimes life just don't want to act right, but as Winston Churchill said no matter what never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever give up, I hope this year is good to you just remember if you make any wishes be careful what is for, it will be granted but there's always a catch,

+1 yAs far as important historical events go (Conflict in Ukraine, Huthi attacks in Red Sea, Israeli-Hamas conflict in Gaza, space launches become commonplace), 2023 ranks pretty high, a 9/10.
In terms of how good the year was, for me personally, it's about a 6.5, not much different from my other years, maybe a bit better because I got to work from home almost all year.

Thanks for MHO
That was 20 years ago Tom! I grade this year a low score, maybe a 3 or 4. My surgery took up most of my time, summer was gone before I knew it, and I lost my brother in November while he was coming back from vacation in Florida, celebrating his 75th birthday. I'm still in shock that one of my siblings is gone. I had a quiet Christmas, and trying to think positively for the coming year. The positive things that happened were that--I made many friends abroad, am still learning Japanese and surviving, and looking forward to travel in 2024 once I stop walking like a zombie. That's it in a nutshell.

+1 yWell, let's see... in 2003, I got divorced, but also met my (present-day) partner, and he's still here, so there's that. My first dog was still alive, I had a great job and was kicking ass, I performed on two musical recordings, was having the time of my life in my band and making new friends... yeah. 2003 was a pretty good year except for the divorce bit, but that was amicable like two roommates getting off the lease and going different directions with a handshake.

@ManOnFire Me either, but I still loved it.
+1 yThis year 2003, I lost my mom who passed away 11/10/2003, if she was alive she would have been 78 going on 79 in 2024. But for me to rate it I would say 3/7, we all have to get back in the groove.

+1 y2003? Brah... I'm from the future brah. We all say "brah" now.

Brah 10 Reply6, none of my goals were achieved despite me trying hard. But I did find key information to completing the goal even if I found it to late for it to work in my favor. It was also an insane year for my hobby so even though we couldn't keep up with the pace it was great fun, and getting essential information bumps it up to a 6.
But other than that nothing happened that makes this year a great one on a personal level.

+1 yFor 2023, I'll say 4/10. It sucked, it was "meh", but it wasn't much different than the rest of the 2020s, and dare I say still better than 2020, and 2021.
I said "goodbye" to 2003 20 years ago, so I don't need to say it again.

+1 yI give it a solid B. The only bad thing l for me personally is my long time girlfriend went to England to get her dream job. I did get a promotion and celebrated my 10 year’s anniversary at my job, and actually had more sex with woman that I have had in awhile. Mostly nothing really life changing in my life of 2023 anc nothing bad except my girl relocating.

3rd grade in elementary school.
Absolutely broke to buy food and drinks. I've seen kids buy food and drinks and me not having any of it. Nothing is free except breathing air.
Way to start a terrible childhood.
20 Reply1. like every year I'm still alive, ugly and looked at like a creep or monster just for existing.
2. Everytime something good was about to happen, like always something bad takes its place.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 y8 - finally admitted that I needed help with my mental health and started getting help for that. It wasn't the most adventurous or ambitious year, but the fact that my mental health got so much better is a win still. Now, I can start to build off that in 2024. Looking forward to the future, for the first New Years eve in a long time.

Can't I go any lower than 1? There isn't a single event that I can consider to be good or happy throughout the entire year.
