Isn’t that kind of overkill? Wouldn’t you be sick of turkey?
Other countries don’t celebrate Thanksgiving so they find it very odd that Americans have almost the same behaviour on different holidays.

Turkey is a standard meat in America. It's often consumed as cold cut sandwich meat, as smoked turkey in southern BBQ or as a flavoring agent in side dishes like collar greens, as deep fried turkey legs, in addition to roasted birds for feasts and family gatherings when a bunch of people come together and want to eat a meal. Some people use it as a beef substitute as ground turkey, but I'm personally not a fan of that. Roast turkey is not the only main meat dish of feasts, but it's popular. It's traditional at Thanksgiving, but is eaten other times of the year. When it comes to Christmas people eat many different meats. They might eat roast ham, roast beef, prime rib, roast leg of lamb, duck, fish, etc. Different families have different preferences and traditions.
There's no tradition of eating turkey for Christmas in the US. My family certainly never has.
But the Griswolds had Turkey.
What does your family eat?
