How do you do New Year’s Eve in winter?

I live in the southern hemisphere and Christmas is in summer. That’s shit and it makes no sense. People still have blow up snowmen and stupid crap like that out on their lawns and it looks ridiculous. The food is also not the right kind to be eating in summer. Generally a bad experience that I dread more and more as the year draws on.

However, New Year’s Eve is awesome. It’s relaxed, it’s partying into the night where you could pass out drunk without freezing to death, it’s beach, it’s scantily clad members of the sex you’re interested in, it’s dancing, music etc. That would be fucked in the cold. Like having to take too many jackets off, feeling cold, can’t party outside, dark early and what have you.

Christmas is better in winter but New Year’s Eve suits the summer more.

That’s my opinion anyway. What about yours?

As a more northern of northern hemisphere persons... I sometimes have no idea how I survive winter generally. However outdoor NYE means you huddle together for warmth with boozy bevvies as you wait for fireworks. All that penquin bumping and alcohol gives you fantastic ideas of the what fun unwrapping other human like packages will be when you find the treasure inside. Dark early means you can find waves of fireworks. They do kiddie countdowns as early as 6-7 and some are at 9. I once had a limo party bus that drove around to the different fireworks while drinking and carryon on was in back.

This year I'll be in a large bar with a raging band... I'll not be dressed for the weather but I'll look hot and be inside and toasty. For midnight they will play an outdoor countdown on the screens indoors and have light effects. You kiss your person or grab a new person for a brief moment and that's that... Back to the band.

I dispose New Years celebration on tv. All those entertainment whores singing and everything is precisely controlled for a propaganda of shady international politicians. Rich people and politicians are having sex party and doing all kind of drugs is the only virtue of the new year celebration.

It is generally cold out and you could freeze to death if you passed out outside. I really do not go out like I used to and I do not feel like I am missing anything.
