A survey claims that more people will be staying home and watching "Stranger Things" than will spend it partying. I knew a guy who was a big drinker that said that New Years Eve was amateur night. When I was younger I had a few epic New Years Eves. Now it is just another night.

I’ve always gone out for New Year’s Eve in downtown Miami but as you know, I’m rehabbing I couldn’t get physical therapy since May and I finally will get it again soon. I will watch the University of Miami play Ohio State at 7:30 PM on Wednesday night New Year’s Eve The cotton Bowl then afterwards, I will go out into my front yard and watch the fireworks around my neighborhood. Some of them get really nice fireworks almost professional style

Our third date was New Year's Eve 2020. Going back to the same restaurant, and we also did the fireworks in 2020, then she drove home. That was the date when I knew she was probably the future Mrs. Wiser. Everything clicked at the right time.

I always went out and partied or did some really fun stuff with girlfriends and, later, with my wife.
From about 2005, we had gone to a karaoke party and some friend's house to celebrate the New Year.
But since New Year's 2020/21, when everyone was insane over the covid "pandemic", my wife and I have stayed home and watched fireworks displays around the world on TV. We have some wine and toast in the New Year as best friends.
Many of our local friends abandoned us when we failed to buy into the covid hysteria or get the eugenics jab. And we have no interest in going out to join crowds of drunken revelers. Been there, done that.22 Reply- 5 mo

5 moI think I've only gone to one New Years arty in my entire life, and it was a long time ago.
My wife usually goes to bed while I stay up long enough to watch the ball drop at Times Square in New York, on one of the New Years Eve music shows.

5 moWe will do what we usually do. Have a nice late lunch at Cracker Barrel, or Chili's or somewhere like that, get home by about 4 and then watch back episodes of shows on Tubi. Make some popcorn maybe, if we really want to liven things up. We would just prefer to stay at home , away from the extremes of over-festive people.
10 ReplyI always stay home on New Year's Eve. When my son was young and growing up I would babysit for all my friends who had kids and went out that night.
One big slumber party 🎉10 Reply
5 moNYE used to be one of my favorite nights out. Now, I’m lucky to stay awake long enough to see the ball drop. No parties for me!

5 moLol, my dad calls it "amateur night" too. 🤣 But no, we usually stay home and maybe watch the ball drop on the internet. Sometimes we keep switching time zones just for fun and celebrate it a few times but no big parties or anything since Christmas is usually a 2-3 day affair and we're all burnt out.
10 ReplyI won't be going. The zoo and some local clubs will have New Year's Eve parties, but they will not be people I know. I would attend a party at the local college to meet other college students, but the colleges are closed. I expect I will go out for dinner with my parents and call it an early evening.

5 moRetired from parties after Covid.
this year I have a few things to do and will not be with my honey NYE
I have to go pick up my son’s buddies from the city. Bring them here then we all go skiing.10 Reply
5 moA New Year’s party to me is like kinda scheduled fun and that’s not me. I have a dinner planned with close friends and will likely share a few laughs and a bottle of wine but the idea of going to a party just because it’s the end of another year leaves me cold.
00 ReplyYeah Im going out. My boyfriend's sister always hosts a New Years party with games, etc. :) We usually stream the fireworks from New York/London (whichever is live)
10 ReplyNot going out to one... Instead we will be hosting our usual evening/night and quite probably "early morning" extravaganza, complete with fireworks (weather permitting).
10 ReplyNah. Just too many drunk knobheads.
If the purpose of these should be connection with people on a similar wavelength; well, I never saw it, sadly.

5 moNope, I'm either gonna stand here at my window or out on the front porch, if it's not too cold out, and watch the fireworks and then get back to what I was doing before that.
10 Reply I haven't been out for NYE in years. Had a few good ones back then but not really interested anymore. I rarely drink alcohol now and probably won't do that either.
Plus it's supposed to pour rain here NYE.

Anonymous(36-45)5 moWhen I was young, I was desperate to go to any type of New Years party, but the older I get the less I want to drive on NYE, the less I want to chance getting shot by some random firing celebratory or violent bullets into the air, the less I want to dress up (rather be in my PJ's eating Chinese food) and the less I want to put myself in some situation to get hit by a drunk driver. So I'll be that statistic of staying home and watching Stranger Things.
