How do you usually celebrate New Years in your city/town/village?

Any special New Year's Eve customs or traditions in your city, town or village?

Sitting with the parents and a few of their friends, having dinner together. Then at midnight go into the street to shoot some rockets and throw firecrackers. Someone opens a bottle of champagne or sparking wine to toast to the new year. All within the safety and security of our well-working, free and prosperous German country. :-)

There is usually a firework display where I live, but in the past I have been to night clubs to see in the New Year.

This year I went for a meal with my cycling friends New Years Eve, but I was too tired to celebrate all the night.

There is a First Night celebration that has been copied in many other cities. there are Ice sculptures and parades. The theaters have special performances and there are other events. Fireworks at 7PM for families and at midnight. I went once when I was younger.
