Men live longer lives if they get married.
Women too
Married men tend to live longer and be healthier than single men, so I voted men.
It's meant to be both as it a union between two people.
That's one of the funniest questions ever, women, by a mile. What do men get other than sex?
Those categories are way, WAAAAYYYYY too broad to be meaningful
I would say men but maybe I'm just speaking from my own experience. Men get the best of it.
The younger generations opinion seems to be "it's hard so I guess I won't even try".
I'd day men the most only because of legal and court bias stuff, but besides that women might not benefit from it either.
Considering women are the ones who have to cook, clean, and take care of the children.. I'd say men benefit more from marriage.
If it's a real marriage based on love then both people benefit.

What do men get out of it at all that women don't also get? Can't really think of anything.
If she's a trophy wife. Men. If she's a bitch and fat women.

@ThisIsMyOpinion The entire point of marriage these days is divorce. It's such an overwhelming problem and it so heavily favors women, that a lot of guys don't even want to get married anymore.

Don't know how it works in other countries. In mine in you want to marry in a church you have to attend a little course. I went to it this past month. There were 80 couples there. There are multiple courses along the year and given by many churches, more the ones that just want a civil marriage. There are many people still marrying
@ThisIsMyOpinion Ohhhh no wonder. Family courts and discrimination against men are a problem in the USA and other similar countries. Women have a myriad of ways to ruin a man's life even when he has done absolutely nothing in the USA.
Truth be told most men I see here so against marriage are usa citizens.

Divorce is a part of marriage the end part. As much as the wedding is a part of marriage.

Death is a part of life because death always happens. The same cannot be said about marriage and divorce because some marriages live a lifetime and never die. For the people who are willing to work at it and are Lucky in Love.

No it isn't but if it happens then it counts as part of it.
Nothing is a part of everyone's marriage.
Let's say men benefit more emotionally because they seem to expect the best of both worlds between a housewife and an employed woman. That logic I don't understand but the idea is out there. The situation makes sense though, since what women find attractive in a man used to be a socially and even legally enforced standard that people (including women) pushed back against many decades ago, until it's now very scarcely found in today's generations.
I do understand how these days, since it's harder for men to find someone who will accept them, that it might often feel relatively better today to be so deeply accepted and loved.
But women often still benefit more materially and finacially based on how they choose men, both during marraige and especially in divorce. But I don't know maybe women can remain single and still get materially, socially and financially supported by men in a similar way. I've seen some women certainly do that.
And in divorce, the law entitles women to their husband's assets, even though we're past the time where women couldn't support themselves. And again this is based on how women select men.

Care to share any of these "studies" which supposedly "indicate men" with the rest of us? Got any sources to back that statement up, other than the made-up ones in your own head?

So a single study, published in 2010, using cherry-picked self-contradictory data which they themselves admitted was "sparse" at best. Which solely consisted of married/unmarried men who were confirmed as ALREADY HAVING life-threatening diseases. Oh, you say that "unmarried individuals were more likely to have advanced disease at the time of diagnosis than married persons"? And that the married men survived longer as a result of- being married? Not of, you know, actually getting diagnosed earlier, on account of living with wives who nagged them about it, and into getting health insurance? Please, give me a break. Yes, they lived longer- AFTER THEIR DIAGNOSIS. Because they were diagnosed earlier. But the actual AGES at which they died, according to that study itself, showed that the married group of men died earlier IN LIFE than any of the others. FACT.
That was a good article. I agree with the findings pertaining to men. But I also think that women benefit from marriage as well, for a lot of the same reasons.
