How do you ask a person to be in a civil partnership with you?

How do you ask a person to be in a civil partnership with you? Do you get down on one knee like when you’re asking someone to marry you? I’ve searched far & wide for this answer but nobody can tell me how it’s done. I would be great full if someone can answer this question for me.

I'd assume you do whatever is normal custom for your religion... There is no standard behavior for marriage. If differs by culture and religion around the world. What do sodomites do, sacrifice a small child to Baal to commemorate their union and fealty?

relationships are fluid... they can change over time, you might want to be "friends with benefits" now... but in a few months or years you might want more... don't "Box" yourself in... just say you want to take it 1 step at a time, maybe it leads nowhere... maybe it leads somewhere...

While a different name and slightly different in law, it is just essentially marriage. so i don't see why it wouldn't be asked in a similar traditional style/way if thats what they wanted.
